Hi, I'm 53 and come from the 'less-is-more' generation. I do however love to look glamourous and wear make-up when I'm out and about. But I feel so out of touch! What do women who are younger than me all do which is normal, which I don't know about? I have never been in a beauty salon, don't know my way around a skincare counter. It's like I missed 'the memo' on beauty stuff and now don't know where to start, and am stuck in the mid 90s. And, I know I really am starting to look my age. I've got some deep wrinkles around my mouth and forehead, and probably sun damage (I've spent a lot of time travelling and outdoors - and didn't care in my 20s and 30s). My skin care routine is, cleanser or soap and water, followed by a SPF moisturiser (nivea or Uley or similar). So, help me! What are the basics that I'm missing? What would be the best serum/moisturiser? And what about (affordable) and non-invasive beauty treatments that really give a boost to a 50-year-old? eg eyelash lift? eyelash extensions? Is this something that other people do regularly, and I'm just 'out of the touch'? I can spend a bit - but just feel like it's a minefield and don't know what to spend money on! thanks!
