I got last year's for £50. I notice this year's is £10 more, and it comes in a cardboard box instead of a cosmetics case like last year's. Has anyone bought it? Does it feel worth it?

Just looked at this in-store and yes tbh l thought it was well worth the money . I will be getting one for each of my Dds.

itsnothingoriginal · 14/10/2025 16:01

I bought it last year and was so disappointed with the range of products and sizes and I'm not excited by this year's either. Have gone with a Boots one instead as seems better value and there's more variety.

Such a shame as M&S was brilliant a few years ago -they did it in a tin and was one of the best calendars I've had!

ThePoshUns · 14/10/2025 16:02

I’m not sure it is worth it this year as you have to make a £30 spend then pay another &60 for what is manly travel
size products. I quite liked last years but it seems quite same this year. Mine was in cardboard boxes last year though not a case.

I haven’t seen the contents but I am going to play bingo and see how many I get right:

Red or gold nail polish
Black eyeliner
Sleep cocoon cream
Elasticizer
SPF sunscreen moisturiser

😁

scotspancake86 · 14/10/2025 16:10

Seems rather similar to last year (which I loved)! So it’s a no from me!

SmashingGemini · 14/10/2025 16:12

I’ve bought it because although it’s not the most exciting, I still think it represents good value. I already use several of the products in it so it’s cheaper than buying them individually and I will give away anything that I don’t want.

Crumbleontop · 14/10/2025 16:19

I think it’s rubbish this year - expensive and some poor gifts, like a comb. I have had the last three but this time I’m swerving! Not worth the money. I’d rather put the £60 towards something I actually want

Same

Not worth spending £95 (AC plus required spend) this time.

Exactly!

I’ve had mine, opened it all and chucked the boxes - thought it was brilliant this year, totally worth it

Don’t forget a paw paw lip balm

Can you still return the purchase? I did that a couple of years ago.
This year I actually need some vests and pyjamas for ds which will come to about £30 so I am considering it. I didn't have one last year

SmashingGemini · 14/10/2025 17:46

I’m pretty sure you can return items making up the £35 spend, especially if you buy online. I ordered pyjamas as I had 20% off on my Sparks card but I’ll have to return them if they don’t fit (different length options etc).

Bunfighter · 18/10/2025 07:55

They've changed the strategy with pricing quite a few times, im sure its been spend £45 and get the calendar for £25 before. I was fine with that as I'd always buy my boys some pjs and outfits for Christmas day to make up the spend. £70 outlay felt like a bargain! Not sure i want to part with £95 though!

DoodleLug · 18/10/2025 08:04

I have bought the last few years but I remember being disappointed during opening but seemed to have a reasonable range of products by the end.

The cardboard packaging is fine by me as long as its pretty because I never have a use for the large bags and even struggle to give them away.

I'd rather not read the list of products before purchase because it ruins the surprise but I think I may have to and hope I forget. I want skin care and hair care, no/minimal make up or nail varnish.

Liquidacrobat · 23/10/2025 12:47

I have just got it, opened the lot. I am pretty pleased with it, some lovely skin care and luxury shower products and a mascara and eyeliner which I need and alone would probably cost £25 just for those 2 things. I don't buy a lot of beauty products throughout the year so I tend to view it as a treat and a ‘stock up’ of a few handy travel items. I give a few bits to my DD too.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 23/10/2025 12:52

I saw it in store yesterday and thought it looked a bit shit. Shame it used to be brilliant.

ShesNeverSeenAShadeOfGray · 23/10/2025 21:01

I caved and ordered it because I'll use most of the products and haven't bought myself a calendar this winter.

Bought a jumper for the required purchase. I sent it back the same day as it was awful! Material was awful and completely unexpected; not a flattering cut; and it smelled funny. Never received anything quite like it.

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 23/10/2025 21:12

I bought it when I was doing an online clothes order anyway let’s hope it’s nice!

Candypatthongworn · 23/10/2025 22:23

Agree it does seem to have jumped in price however I use the Stila eyeliner and I think it’s around £21 and the Clinique mascara is £20 plus . There’s also a Benefit product which I am sure retails over £20 so if you use those products it would be worth it . I don’t buy it every year I always check the contents and see what I would actually use.
A ‘considered’ purchase for me .
