Winter boots with non slip traction for mainly all weather urban walks

What are you buying this winter or are your current favourites? I don’t want to wear trainers and my fashion boots aren’t really non slip enough so I’m looking at hiking boots suitable for pavements. My hiking boots have had it after 20 years so I want to buy a new pair specifically for pounding the pavements and another pair for all terrain.

I’ve a couple of pairs from Sorrel which I like for both pavements and not too rough terrain. Seem to be not so dirty as well so if you’re having a walk then lunch you don’t feel the need to take them off, if that makes sense.

Mammal. They do some with flip down spikes for when it’s icy.

Timberland are pretty good as are Blundstone - both are stylish enough for everyday use but have good grippy soles. I've also bought a set of ice shoe grips, which basically fit on the bottom of boots and really help on very slidy days. I live in a very hilly town, and otherwise found myself sliding down the pavements...

Urban walks for me might mean strolling through a botanic garden, along a busy pavemented High Street, into a cinema or concert hall, through a bumpy cobbled street, into a jewellers or restaurant, attending a seminar or gallery exhibition, and then home through gravel and puddles - so I want boots that work for all those venues; smart, waterproof, good secure tread, go with all my clothes …

Grenson

is my current favourite. Not least because they’re an absolute joy to polish - and they’ll replace the soles when worn out.

@Perfidia
good old Grensons. Are they exceptionally comfortable underfoot for the price though? I’ve always seen them more as a fashion boot for some reason.
