Luxury / statement evening bag help

I have a decent amount of money to spend on an evening bag. But I don’t know if should splurge it all or just buy a super nice bag that’s good quality.

I was looking at the YSL pouch wirh chain but also the strathberry wallet on a chain and the Aspinal London clutch.

I need it to be gold or neutral as it’s for a couple events coming up which have gold toned outfits.

I set aside £1k which seems like a lot of money but I don’t splurge on much and don’t spend much on myself.

Thanks for your help!

Will you lose it if pissed? If so, go Accesorize.

100% yes I would be pissed and the worry with spending so much is that I’d worry about putting it down anywhere!

The Aspinall London clutch is fab as is the midi Mayfair in a champagne colour. I have the Mayfair in black and it gets a lot of use. For something eyecatching and a bit less money have you checked out the evening bags on me + em? They've some quirky bags. Have fun choosing... lucky you! X

If you won't enjoy it there is no point
If you will then just go for it

Have a look at TKMaxx - they have a great range of bags, some designer, for reasonable prices.

I must say if I saw a bag that was cheaper and I really liked it I would buy it. Still its nice to have a large budget in case you see a really must have bag

Each to your own, it's your money and maybe you're as rich as Croesus , you have walk in wardrobes stuffed to the gunnels with fabulous dresses and there's nothing else you want or need but for me I don't see the point of spending that much on an evening bag.

If I saw you at a black tie event I'd look at what you are wearing but I wouldn't even notice your evening bag. Tbh, I kind of think a good evening bag is one that isn't noticed so it doesn't detract from the main event.

If you won't enjoy it there is no point. If you will then just go for it.

Wise words. I could afford to spend a £1,000 on a bag but I'd get no enjoyment out of it. You say you don’t splurge on much and don’t spend much on yourself so maybe an expensive evening bag is "your bag"

Only you know if it's worth it and if you'll get the enjoyment from it. If it were me I'd splurge on a dress and go to Accesorize for the bag. It's not for me or anyone else to tell you how to spend your money but the fact you're asking maybe suggests it's not "your bag"?

I think you would be able to find a really lovely bag for around £300 - I think that would be enough to get something really special. Im kind of envious as my husband was so mean I never had any nice thing for me.
