Are mini-skirts still appropriate for women over 30?

I’ve noticed mini-skirts making a big comeback lately, and it got me wondering—are they still considered “age-appropriate” once you’re past your 20s? I’m in my mid-30s and still love the look, especially in summer, but a few friends say it feels “too young” now. Personally, I think it’s more about how you style it and how confident you feel, but I’m curious what others think.
Do you feel there’s an age limit for mini-skirts, or is that an outdated idea?

What a weird opening post! Mini skirts are fine at any age. They obviously look much more chic on people with long, slim legs.....but age shouldn't be the defining issue

My ma wears miniskirts still at 62, albeit with tights and boots. She looks absolutely amazing. Shes always been a great dresser, and is as whip thin and toned now as she’s always been. If you love it, wear it, I say.

Just wear whatever you want to wear and what you’re comfortable in. I’m late 30s and wouldn’t wear one, I’m slim, ok legs but I wouldn’t feel comfortable, not sure why I just wouldn’t. I actually saw a mini skirt in primark and it reminded me of my teens when I would wear a skirt that just covered my bum lol. However just I’m cos I wouldn’t feel comfortable I’d never look at anyone and think they were too old to wear one

Well I’m 44 and have two corduroy mini skirts which I wear with black tights. I don’t care if people think it’s “inappropriate” - honestly don’t really understand what that even means.

I'm mid 40s and have put on weight since perimenopause. Weirdly, I'm wearing more short skirts than I ever did.

I love the comments about people's mum's still wearing mini skirts in their 60s+. Love their confident.

When she said mini skirt in her 30s, I assumed the OP was talking about something like this.

Wear whatever you like and feel comfortable in.

I'm much older than you but thank goodness I've still got decent legs so I wear them.

The only bit of me I'm conscious of now is my neck.

Dodgethis · 12/10/2025 14:53

Mini skirts are appropriate for anyone who wants to wear a miniskirt and feels good in a miniskirt.

caringcarer · 12/10/2025 14:59

I think it depends if you have good legs or not. I think that applies to mini clothing for all ages. My legs are too fat for mini skirts so I keep them covered.

I have a gorgeous very mini swing dress and I'm mid 40s! It's got a high neck and long sleeves though. So it's how your wear it.

Wear it ,hey can we talk?
