Are mini-skirts still appropriate for women over 30?

I’ve noticed mini-skirts making a big comeback lately, and it got me wondering—are they still considered “age-appropriate” once you’re past your 20s? I’m in my mid-30s and still love the look, especially in summer, but a few friends say it feels “too young” now. Personally, I think it’s more about how you style it and how confident you feel, but I’m curious what others think.
Do you feel there’s an age limit for mini-skirts, or is that an outdated idea?

You can wear what you want at any age, but I think they are really dated looking now and have not seen them making a comeback, I think your friends mean they are a dated look. As in what they wore when they were younger but not now as out of fashion, other than for young teens. The fact they are dated doesn’t mean you can’t wear them. Go for it.

I'm 46 and wear mini skirts and even 'hot pants' if I want to. Either their appropriate (I think they are) or I am proudly and gloriously inappropriate and will be well into to my next decade and onwards!

Yep, I'm 60s too and would wear similar. Plus shorts in the summer. Quelle horreur!

I’m 49 and own 3. Will carry on wearing them for as long as I want.

I'm 51 and not only do I still wear them - I also wear them without tights on occasion and to work.

I'm 44. I wear them with boots and bright tights and I'm fat. Care not one jot.
Want to wear them? Do.
Don't want to wear them? Don't.

I'm 65 and although I wouldn't wear a short skirt with bare legs ( I don't like the way the skin over my my knees droop) , I'm happy to wear them with opaque tights and boots/flats. Decades of Pilates ,walking and yoga have resulted in my legs staying shapely and toned with very little cellulite.

I'm 50 and wore one today with black tights and DMs. I don't care if someone thinks it's inappropriate.

OMG - over 30!!! The shock of wearing a mini skirt.....

The day of your 30th birthday you need to get rid of all your clothes immediately, preferably burning them.

Then start dressing in comfy cardigans, start knitting, socialise at garden centres and go out and buy a tartan shopping trolley. Anything else marks you out as a floozie.

I’m much older than that and I wear them. So did my mother well over the age of 50!!!

I didn’t get the memo that said I had to hang up my minis after 30, and cover my bare legs in the summer (seemingly).

I’m 51 and will wear one with black opaques. Nothing short-short like when I was a young’un, but no need to retire them yet.

I’m late ish 40s and I wear them. I feel my legs are almost the same as in my early 30s. I wouldn’t have ever thought I was too old in my 30s - I felt sooo young! I still feel young and look perfectly good in one.

I do choose nice quality fabrics now and better quality clothing.

I think I am 57 next birthday and still wear mini skirts without tights especially on holidays.
I do have fantastic legs but equally wouldn’t care if I didn’t.

I'm 41 and just bought a plum coloured cord mini skirt, that I wear with black tights, boots and a tight black ribbed roll neck sweater. It looks awesome!

If you are comfortable with mini skirts then wear them. No prblem.
