Help with styling this blazer?

I saw this velvet blazer today in Next. It also comes in black. Black would be the easy option as I have everything at home that would work with it but I am really drawn to the burgundy. I don’t like the trousers to match it though. I’d wear jeans but I am not sure if I should go with black or blue which then has a knock on with shoes etc. I have a cream camisole that would definitely go with the black but I am not sure about the burgundy. Any thoughts? I have 2 birthday parties in November then it’s silly season so I will get plenty use out of it.

Get the trousers. It won’t be nearly so effective with anything else. The velvet looks rather floppy - it may look a mess with unmatched jeans. I should think your camisole would be fine with it. Or a cotton / silk / wool vest in any colour you like.

Would have to be black jeans to my eyes

I absolutely adore this and if I was slimmer and had next money then I would wear the whole suit with a lovely blue shirt or top (light blue and burgundy look gorgeous together). There is some gorgeous burgundy wide fit shoes in new look that would look great with this.

Like this kinda colour top and whatever style you think. I think a v neck to go with the strong lines . Paticularly if you have a nice long neck you could clip your hair up with a lovely clip

You might be surprised how good the trousers are. I borrowed my daughter’s wide leg velvet trousers last Autumn and at 5 2 size 8 I thought I’d look ridiculous. I found them really comfortable and flattering so much so I went on to buy 2 more pairs off Vinted.

with the burgundy jacket and black jeans you could wear a nice black satin camisole with lace trim and accessorise with either black or burgundy shoes. Would work with the burgundy trousers too. Black jacket is a good staple but a little safe ?

It's recycled polyester and looks not quite structured and not quite flowy.
I'd leave it.

black velvet jacket and black jeans won’t look nice. Need contrasting colours due to different materials. Or matching materials and matching colours (ie the matching trousers).

Morning. The West Ham comment made me laugh. So the suits are ordered. I saw the trousers yesterday and definitely don’t like them so if I keep either jacket it will be with jeans. I get the black and black might look off so will keep that in mind. I also ordered a pack of two camisoles from Next that I saw. One is black and the other is burgundy. Just to give a bit of contrast if I don’t like the one I have.

It might all be awful when it comes but I need to get something to wear. Jeans and a blazer is definitely where I am most comfortable. I wish they did the blazer in Navy.

I saw a more structured blue velvet tuxedo jacket in Sainsbury’s this week if you are looking for one? Not a great shade of navy IMO, but it looked good value. I think m&s have one on their website too.

I’d wear the burgundy jacket black camisole with some black velvet trousers that you prefer more. And some drop earrings with differing shades of burgundy crystals maybe? Burgundy patent or velvet slingbacks are around a lot at the moment. I bought the m&s faux leather burgundy jeans a couple of weeks ago and they would look great with it too I reckon.

Thanks. I am willing Marks and Spencer to release their Christmas stuff in the hope there is a Navy one. I can't find one on the website at the moment bar the Sosander one which is a bit more than I wanted to pay.

Im from the north so im not familiar with West ham kit. Just see a lot of girls do the colour combination on Pinterest and it looks nice.

I think it was Sosander. Usually Zara starts releasing the party outfits at this time of year so maybe look at that soon? I’d love a navy velvet suit. I always lusted after the 1990’s/early 00’s Tom Ford Gucci one but either never had the £ or was never slim enough to wear it!
