Hot weather clothes in a rush

I’m going away on Monday and while I always expected the weather to be pleasant it’s now looking at being 28 - 32 degrees and I don’t have the right clothes for these temperatures!

where can I go this weekend that I can get shorts / thin tops / light summer clothes from actual high street shops rather than order online and risk items not being delivered on time or not fitting?

What were you wearing here (I presume you are UK based) when it was hitting high twenties in June/July/August? Maybe combining some of your current clothes in different ways may help you feel the holiday mood. I have seen Asda had some nice cotton shirts and the big Sainsbury's near me still had lots of summer stuff in their sale section but it will be a bit hit and miss. Trespass and Regatta have some plain cotton vests and shirts and they stock shorts so might be worth a look.

I know you mention you don’t want to shop online, but personally I would make a start online. For example, if you ordered online from John Lewis tonight you could collect in store or from your local Waitrose on Friday afternoon. Try everything on at home and if needed do the returns in store on Saturday, which means the refund goes back quickly and you can fill any gaps by shopping in store. You can filter by the % discount so can pick up some summer bargains. I would just avoid delivery from store as you pay postage. If you spend £40 plus, delivery to store is free.

Next online - look at clearance section (near top of homepage on right hand side), and pay for next day delivery or deliver to store. Order before 9pm?). O

Next sale and clearance items aren’t normally on next day delivery - however,
if you look under the Women’s Wear
tab on the website, they still have a ‘Holiday Shop’ section which will normally be on next day delivery unless specified.

I’d also do a John Lewis shop for next day delivery to store.
