Reducing scar redness

Can anyone recommend a product to help reduce the redness around a scar site? Scar is about 6 months old but the surrounding skin is still quite red and it's difficult to cover with makeup. I currently use a silicone gel with vit E but am wondering if there's something more effective.

Kelocote gel is very good if that isn't the silicone you've been using. I was prescribed that plus Haelen tape (which is prescription only) for a very discoloured and raised scar and it worked wonders. I did in the end have steroid injections into the scar, but it was the whole regime that was needed
