How does everyone draw their eyebrows on with a pencil? I find it really difficult to get them even, and I think one always looks darker than the other, I literally draw them on but they never look natural, should I be using strokes with the pencil? Rather than just drawing a line? I would love to get them done but they are so expensive and I worry I wouldn’t like them. They are to sparse and patchy to just have them tinted.

Yes, better to draw strokes to mimic hairs so it looks natural. Follow your natural shape, just fill in any gaps you have. A very thin tipped pencil (the ones you twist up, rather than a pencil you sharpen) are good for this. I use a spoolie to blend it in also and make sure it’s a good shade match

It's probably worth looking for a tutorial on youtube to help you get to grips with products and techniques.

If you are looking for a treatmet, powder brows is the best option, I think mine cost £175 with the top up, they look natural, great shape.

When I did my eyebrows before, I actually use eyeshadow and a angled brush. I use a lighter shade of brown for the inner eyebrow as naturally the edge fades towards your skin colour and isnt harsh. I then use a alightly darker shade to outline very thinly to give definition to the shape and to add deeper colour to the mid section to the tail end. And then a darker shade to add a few hair strockes at the front.

Also, a good saying which I feel is true: Your eyebrows are sisters, not twins.

Thank you I’ve been trying to do different things with them for the past hour on my day off 😂 wish I hadn’t of over plucked them in the 90’s!

Yes, try to draw little hairs that would follow the lay of the hairs of they hadn't been plucked to oblivion like mine were in the 90s too! Really gradual build up, that seems to work for me. I'd love to have them done properly so I don't have to faff about every day, but it's guaranteed I'd end up with the big slug things and have to hide in the house forever 😫

cramptramp · 06/10/2025 13:23

You can buy eyebrow pencil things (don’t know what they are called) that enable you to draw brush strokes very easily. They might be easier.

You need to get yourselves a Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil. It’s more like crayon but is angled to perfection and you really can’t go wrong!

AnchorWHAT · 06/10/2025 13:34

You can also buy fake tattoo eyebrows.

Idontjetwashthefucker · 06/10/2025 13:34

I draw fine strokes just in the areas which need a bit more fullness not the whole brow, then use an eyebrow mascara to finish. The elf Wow Brow one is great, it thickens but doesn't leave them all stiff and clumped like some.

I did the same over plucked now it looks as if i dont have any brows.
But i dont want big brows.
So will be watch the thread.

Yours don’t look awful OP but I would aim for making them a bit less filled in, it ought to look like it’s made of hairs not a solid shape.

I use the elf Wow brow linked above to give my hairs a bit more oomph and colour, plus (if I can be bothered) the NYX micro pencil just to fill in any gaps - I use it to draw “hairs” in the gaps, not colour in solid.

Trouble is though I don’t have any hairs on the outer edges only between the brows

Ah I understand, so only the central bit of what you’ve shown actually has hairs? In that case I’d go for drawing in extra hairs with a twist up skinny pencil, like the NYX micro pencil. The brow gels won’t help that much as they need some hair to cling to

A brow regrowth serum might help but they are pricey.

I use this, can buy it around £20 in boots. And a pencil in the same shade to add on to the end one side as i pick at my eyebrows alot

Vodka1 · 06/10/2025 14:15

Yours look fine imo though, with whatever your doing

pinenuts75 · 06/10/2025 14:26

I'd do some research on some really good semi permanent brow options, by the time you've cleared the shelves in Boots and Superdrug, spent time watching tutorials on how to use them, you could just get up and go. Pick who you go to wisely and you won't look back.

hobbledyhoy · 06/10/2025 16:21

Try minoxidil 5% it’ll help grow hairs back in if the follicle is dormant. Rapidbrow is also good and can be used in conjunction with the above.

Also benefit ‘Precisely My Brow’ is thinnest pencil there is, so it’s better at doing natural hair strokes.

I’m a victim of 2000’s overplucking, I’ve done quite a bit of research 😂

psuedocream3 · 06/10/2025 16:34

This is how I mean, you lightly shade towards the nose, the tail end in 3 and 4, is filled darker. If you have no hairs in the are closest to your nose you can use the angled brush to carefully draw strokes over the light shading.

psuedocream3 · 06/10/2025 16:35

Sorry I added a picture but it's not showing,,,
