Ibiza outfits - age 54

user50and · 06/10/2025 11:58

I'm off Ibiza on a girls weekend next year and am already panicking/planning outfits. My friend is into Clockwork Orange so they're their events, bar Pikes:
Es Paradis Saturday
Tanit beach party Sunday
Pikes Monday
I'm 5'2, size 8/10, usually wear Cos, Reiss, Zara, H&M, always in black, white, navy, grey, neutrals. Nothing sparkly. Was thinking maybe shorts/linen shirts/layered necklaces/bracelets for the evenings but what about the beach party? Shoes etc? Have been to Ibiza before (in my late teens/20's and a couple of years ago with my partner but didn't go clubbing)
Have always loved my house music but don't want to look like a wannabe/mutton dressed as lamb/twat. Basically...

I wouldn't go, I'd be far too stressed out having to dress up for anything, not to mind Ibiza! Not one bit of help there, but I got the shivers at your post since I am such a wallflower. 😊

That made me chuckle! It took a lot of persuasion let me tell you! 😂

Are you planning your outfits a year in advance??

theriseandfallofFranklinSaint · 06/10/2025 12:33

Ooooh, we're hoping to go to Ibiza next year as a last hurrah before we all turn 50 (not that we can't go post 50 but a load of birthdays gives us an excuse!)

I'm no help as I also don't know what I'd wear so will cross that bridge when we actually book something!

Nope. 9 months!

Oh well that’s FINE then! My suggestion would be to look at the instagram for Glitterbox - I think their crowd is a bit older ie not just 20s, so might be good for inspo…..

Fab! Get planning early. It's a right headache 😂

Google Kate Moss in Ibiza, she nails it without sliding down the trashy polyester slope. Or any other mid life person who's style you admire.

Ok here’s some pics from a hard house rave called HSWRK on the pier in my town in August with women & men of all ages as you can see. (All from the Facebook page so ok to post)

Also you could join the Facebook group ‘Ibiza Clubbing for 40+’ it’s a good group for advice about clothes etc.

whirlyhead · 06/10/2025 14:17

You can probably just buy clothes there that aren’t that expensive. I live in mallorca and it’s easy to pick up reasonably priced clothes, even by the beach or on the beach as local sellers sell their wares there. If it’s hot, simple beach dresses are great and you can easily get them for €30. Though admittedly we’re probably more casual dressers in mallorca!

tierralee · 06/10/2025 14:20

The only issue with buying clothes in Spain is if you’re over a size 10/12 or at all busty it’s difficult to find clothes that will fit

tierralee · 06/10/2025 14:23

Find out the rules regarding footwear for most clubs - I’ve heard trainers or cowboy boots are generally best as the clubs are so crowded ppl may tread on your feet! Plus you want to be able to dance all night hopefully. I remember the days of dancing all night in flip flops but they’re not allowed in various places now.

Wear something you love and feel good in! A group of us similarly aged went last year-

Pikes-
Linen tailored skort thing from zara, racer tank vest, big silver cuff, DM chunky sandals
Wide leg linen type culotte's and a matching strapless top from M and S- trainers, bum bag
Sequin vest top worn with barrel leg jeans and trainers
Black silk bomber worn with tailored shorts and a vest top worn with chunky sandals
White midi length dress with wedge heels

Fancy beach bar/lunch, big bag with swimmers etc in
Black dress, tan belt and tan wedge with gold chunky jewellery, headscarf
Co-ord shirt and short set, black strappy flats, fedora style hat
polka dot jumpsuit, DM sandals, fedora hat
Floaty dress and pretty flip flops, floppy hat

That is all I can remember. We had the BEST time.

A real mix of people, and vibes.

IME it is very expensive, gorgeous but expensive

I’ve not been to Beefa for a few years but it’s still my favourite place ever!
I regularly go to UK events such as Clockwork/Housework etc - and really, anything goes!
Sparkles are BIG! Lots of sparkly shorts/skirts paired with plain vest/tank tops. Team with low heeled ankle boots, cowboy style/chunky style. Denim is always good, so a good pair of denim shorts or a playsuit, obviously go for a really lightweight denim.
For beach clubs/beach parties look at fancy swimwear with co ord clothing. So a structured swimsuit with kaftan or crochet top and bottoms, SHEIN is good for this stuff.
Ive added an example.

Check out Cala Vadella for a sunset meal or Santa Gertrudis for an afternoon, lovely places.
Enjoy the parties, Pikes is brilliant!

Step away from sparkly swimwear from Shein.

Shorts with a vest top will take you a long way - shorts either denim or linen, dress up or down with accesories and oversized shirt/jacket. Flats!!

RealEagle · 06/10/2025 15:25

We go to ibiza every year i’m nearly 58,honestly wear what you are comfortable in

Retro12 · 06/10/2025 15:53

Anything goes in Ibiza. I would say that you don't have to get too dressed up if you don't wish to.

Oooooo all these outfits sound right up my street! Do you mean the chunky gladiator style DM sandals? And 'skort thing' I'm intrigued 😆

OP posts:
Peclet · 07/10/2025 13:42

yes the gladiator sandals and then also the thick strap sort of flat form style.

skort was from Zara last year. Looked like a wrap mini shirt but super comfortable and practical.

I loved series 3 of the white lotus and the three women I think nailed the aspirational beach look.
