I don’t have a working watch - I have a couple in my drawer that need new batteries. But I would love a new watch that will stand the test of time. That is wearable as a 44 year old women or when I am 74.

Budget up to £1000 - I don’t think I would want to pay more than this and ideally would like to spend less!!

I wear silver mainly though like gold.

Wedding rings are platinum.

Please help as I am hopeless!!

You mention the battery thing. I have a Citizen Eco Drive watch that is powered by sunlight. I’ve had it probably over a decade and it just…keeps going every day with no attention needed, looking great and telling the time. Never needs a new battery. Maybe something like that, or one powered by movement would be a good option for you?

Have a look at preowned Omega or Tudor?
You ought to be able to get something with an automatic movement. Alternatively, a new Seiko automatic could be a good shout.
