does anyone practice this. Does it actually work? I’m following lots of people on instagram but impossible to know if they are using filters. I have a really deep crease across my forehead but am otherwise completely line free so I feel like this is probably caused from poor muscle position. Have spent decades staring at a screen for work. Don’t want to go down the Botox road if I can help it.

I’ve seen a few of them and attempted it with the round end of a make up brush. They keep going on about a ‘stuck bit’ I don’t have one, and all the rubbing did was make my skin pink and sore.
Have you had a sight test to check you don’t need glasses for screen work? My line has eased slightly since I’ve had a new prescription as I’m no longer screwing my face/eyes up to concentrate.

I have a deep crease which I think is from sleeping on my side. Have you come across Savannah Alalia? She talks about how the fascia in the face links to different body parts, so it might be that a crease on your face is actually due to muscle tension or something in another part of your body, and working on each can help the other.

Yes! It’s her that I have been following!!

@Hurumphh have you tried face taping? If yours is caused by your sleeping position it could stop it getting worse.
I tape my 11’s each evening and my forehead is totally smooth when I take it off in the morning. It doesn’t last though, but I figure I’m doing a little to prevent it getting worse.
Interesting you say about tension in another part of the body, I have awful shoulder issues resulting in tight, painful muscles.

ThisBadTimeIsTakingForever · 05/10/2025 08:17

Sorry, my point being that the deepest line is the side of my tight shoulder muscle.

Hurumphh · 06/10/2025 20:48

@ThisBadTimeIsTakingForever i might have to give taping a try. The face map is here. I think it’s generally the opposite side of your body linked to your face…

(Not sure if the link will work - you can search ‘savannah alalia face map’ and look for a Pinterest image result for the diagram)

@ThisBadTimeIsTakingForeverwhich face tape do you use? I just bought one of those crochet needle looking things (without the hole) that she uses too.

@mo25 I just use a white transpore tape, they type they stick dressings on with.
I have used scar tape, which was really good, but was too expensive really.

thanks @Hurumphh I will have a look at the face map.

ResusciAnnie · 08/10/2025 20:41

Hmm well I haven’t tried it for looks but I have had myofascial release for connective tissue disease and it was soooo effective so I don’t see why the facial stuff shouldn’t work.
