Any Botox experts around?

Hi! I used to have botox, and it was called Allergan. It worked a treat. I could see on Day 5 that it had worked.

After a few years without, I've just been to a new place and it hasn't worked AT ALL and I am on Day 7.

I asked what type of Botox they used and she said Botox Botulinum type A. She said it might take 14 days to work.

Is this right? Could she have been using a weaker brand or something? Or not enough? I heard her talking to her assistant about what dosage to put in, but didn't hear the numbers.

Thanks!

Not a Botox expert but I’ve started using someone different who uses a different type. It does work but it takes the full 14 days to work and it happens gradually rather than that ‘oh it’s kicked in’ moment.

Did you get a headache? Do you normally. Because I usually do but don’t with this one. It just seems a bit gentler (but good).

Presumably you have a follow up top up appointment too?

I'd give it the full 14 days first. In my experience they aren't all the same. I get different timings from different products. You can always go back for a top up.

Also, a new clinic isn't familiar with your face and how to get the optimal result. I need more in my right hand side. The girl I see now wasn't comfortable with that at first. She put equal in both sides and I had to wait for the top up to correct it. Now she knows I'll always need more and does it at the main appointment. They have to cover their own arses as well, so won't risk over treating a new client.

This lady doesn't do a follow up, unless you ask for it. I've done that, and she has scheduled to see me on day 13. I am just so used to it being obvious on day 5!

I have been having Botox for over 10 years and always have Botox Botulinum type A. It always yakes about 14 days to stat to see a difference.
