Hello. I need to get an Oodie or similar for DS to go to university with this week. I hadn't realised they were so expensive. Can anyone recommend decent quality brands that aren't Oodie?
TIA

I've got a few from Primark that are ok but I've never found any to be as thick as a proper Oodie. I got mine in the sale a few years ago, think it was reduced from £65 to £32. They often have reduced ones on the website.

I got the kids ones from Online Home Store, I was very sceptical as they were really cheap but they are thick and wash well.

I got one from oodie last week for £35 and some were as low as £26. They have sales if you're not too fussy on the pattern/colour

Sorry I see it is for your son. Sorry about that 🫢

Next ones are lovely, wash well for years and are a sensible price and much nicer colours/prints IMO than the original Oodies.

Dunelm hooded blankets, not the teddy fleece though cos they go a mit matted after a wash, amazon too have loads.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 01/10/2025 15:31

The Comfy (I got ours from Costco). Currently available online for £24.99 delivered. Simetimes available new on Ebay.

Sorry don't know how to post a link but if you search "True Face Blanket Hoodie Unisex Oversized" on Amazon for them hopefully they'll come up. I bought 4 of these last year for the lads in the family. They are fabulous! The reviews say they are the same as oodies?

Catwoman8 · 01/10/2025 15:43

I have tried a few but nothing compares to my Oodie. They saved us a fortune in heating last year. You can sometimes get them in a sale for around £39 if he isn't particulary bothered about a certain print, they are well worth it. I got a second one from vinted too for £10 so I have a spare when the other is in the wash

I got an original Oodie last week from their site for £26! Just a plain dark colour. Same one is nearly £50 this week. Worth checking what they have.

Thank you all so much for the tips. Extremely helpful!

I have a kuddly but it's too warm for all but the coldest days. I would suspect a. Oodie is the same

lazyarse123 · 02/10/2025 13:36

I bought my adult kids oodie for last Christmas, they had a half price sale. The only thing is getting the bloody things dry if you wash them, they're huge.

I bought a couple from there a couple of years ago for my Dds they are adults and they are still wearing them.

Failing that primarks are fine i have one from the nens section and it is cosy

henlake7 · 02/10/2025 17:00

Oodie is def still the best/warmest. You just have to stalk the site for a good sale deal.
Primarks are good for money too. Last year I bought an Oodie style zip up version from there. It was actually fantastic coz the zip meant you could easily throw it on and off.

Type in on amazon. I dropped on and found someone selling oodies with the tags cut out for around 15 quid. I ended up buying 3!
