Non jeans winter trousers

I think I would like to try and wear something other than jeans all winter.
DD has some twill trousers from H&M (they don’t seem to have them now) and I would like something similar. Straight legged.
I'm short and a 14 though.

Maybe try Vinted for cigarettes pants that H&M did as part of their petite range. They aren’t fully straight on that they narrow at the ankle but might be a nice alternative.

There a bit wide for me. I am SHORT so wide trousers end up looking like clown trousers once a cut a foot off rhem.

Cords?

Jk987 · 28/09/2025 18:28

Cords would be a very last resort for me!

Holluschickie · 28/09/2025 18:29

Why? Cords are great.

PersistentRain · 28/09/2025 18:31

In my 20s I wore cords a lot. I feel a bit fat for them now.

I have some elastic waist loose fitting straight leg trousers in pink from next which are very flattering. Im wearing them today for some work training. Also some leopard print pull on jeggings from Roman which are really flattering. Im 5.5 and trouser size 14.

No one is too fat for anything.

How about some smart straight leg jogger trype trousers? I got a nice maroon pair from Next. I am going to look for cords as well but they need to be soft and comfy.

I've a wardrobe full of M&S trousers, elasticated waist mainly but structured, in jersey. They have various styles and leg widths - they have some folded up on card near the leggings that are called straight-legged-joggers which are really good. My only criticism would be that there's not much choice in trouser lengths any more according to my 5'2" daughter.

Few years ago i had a pair of fleece trousers, possibly by regatta. Amazingly comfy and warm. Practical and didn't look to loungy.

Never found them again.
