What am I supposed to do with the little mini-lid inside the big lid in my pot of face cream?

What is it for?
Do I throw it away?
Am I supposed to unscrew the big lid and then lift the little lid every time I put on night cream?

I just keep it on and take it on/off every time I use it

Thank you for asking this question, I have wondered this many times. Hopefully someone knowledgeable in the ways of cosmetic packaging can enlighten us

I chuck it because it annoys me. Thinking about- would it be to stop the cream from shifting and getting stuck into the grooves of the big lid if “in transit”?🤔

I imagine it’s there to prevent air getting in to keep it fresh.

Yes, I thought it would probably be useful if you had to travel. But mine just sits on my dresser.

I throw mine away. Doesn’t seem to change texture over time with only one lid.

I bin it. A pot of face cream doesn't last long enough to need to worry about it going off.

I keep it until it just pisses me off too much and then I bin it.

It's the sort of thing if I threw away, the main lid would miraculously disappear while using it. Be right next to me then look back to put it on and .... gone 😂 I'm keeping my mini lid.

It’s to keep it fresh, you can recycle it with your plastics.

To stop it slipping around in transit on the way to the shop. I bin it once open as I keep my face cream upright
