Arrgh that's three of you now. It's lovely, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Now that I know I'm not buying SNK or HN fragrance I maybe could get it but I really don't want to spend that much right now. End of Aug through Sep was spendy and not just because of the BACs (that was a big part of it tho).

I think I'll have to leave it to fate and see if it's still there in November.

Caggie09 · 05/10/2025 09:33

Honestly, it doesnt take much to tip me over the edge and find an excuse to buy something😂 I have car bits to pay for next month, so hopefully thats not on the expensive side. Priorities for sure!

Twinsandsome · 05/10/2025 10:35

Maybe wrong thread to ask on but any of you who have smelt BDK Gris Charnel, doesn’t have any resemblance of glossier you doux? I love you doux but it just doesn’t last on the skin so I would like a stronger version for Christmas nights out etc and looked that one up. I ordered gisada verde after wikparfum saying it was closest match but it is nothing like you doux to me.

also gutted I seen that candle mentioned on all beauty last night and was able to get a code to work on top but thought ill sleep on it, now the code doesn’t work on it x

BloomingGardens · 05/10/2025 10:37

I'm hoping you guys can help me with a good tween advent calendar. My daughter like lip balms/glosses, body sprays, shower gels, that kind of thing. We're not doing skincare or much make up yet. I'm looking at what could be a good one for her. I'm thinking Essence maybe, or the Cath Kidson one. I know Cath Kidson is not a tween brand but it's all little smelly bits, so might actually work. What have you guys figured out for your eleven year old?

I’d say the Body Shop would be a good one for your DD @BloomingGardens

Doubleraspberry · 05/10/2025 10:48

I got my DD the A Little Something calendar from Boots. It has a mix of body sprays, hair clips and a bit of shimmer make up, which felt like a nice mix although it wasn’t one I’d heard of before. Fairly impressed by the box which has the products in their own little boxes rather than a cheap plastic frame.

Hi

im looking to get an advent calendar for my wife. She has previously had Charlotte tilbury, Clinique, body shop and next. She wears Charlotte tilbury makeup products but she likes anything beauty.

i had seen the look fantastic one which seemed to have a few god sized full products. Would you appreciate this one and think it’s a good enough all rounder?

I like a lot of the products in Look Fantastic. I didn’t go for it simply because there were more products in other calendars that I wanted. It’s a good price for what you get though, and if I was gifted it I’d be happy with it.

If you don’t get that one, I’d suggest getting a calendar that has a Charlotte Tilbury product in it seeing as you know she likes that brand. The John Lewis one has a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick (depends what colours your wife wears though) and a great range of other brands in.

Let us know what you end up going for

XiCi · 05/10/2025 11:20

Does anyone think H&B will come into stock again this year? I liked the look if it and was going to get as a Jadvent but it sold out so quickly.

TheWeeDonkeyFella · 05/10/2025 11:49

@XiCi I'd say there's a reasonable chance as I definitely bought it later on one year after it initially going out of stock. The webpage also has a 'notify me' option too which suggests more stock may be on the way.

You Beauty is worth a look and has a Charlotte tilbury product in, lovely looking box too.

I just went back to the candle, added 2 to the basket and applied GIFT15 and it took an extra 15% off! So I got 2 Diptyque candles for £120. I’m happy with that over the SNK fragrance advent calendar!

Typology BAC is out. This is one I quite fancy since seeing it last year. I'm not going to get it this year because frankly I have way too much stuff right now. I'd like to try their products though.

Oh I'm tempted with this one x

Is there a list of contents anywhere in English? I tried to sign up for notifications but it didn’t work.

It’s on the link page under 24 iconic products.

I’ve not heard of the brand before but it does look very interesting. Has anyone tried their products?

I am also trying to wait and see and be sensible but it is living rent free in my head and if I sell my Jo Maline from Harrods I can put that towards it.
I love Delina and do have 2 x 10mls so really don’t need it, not that any of my purchases are needs.
Does anyone know if they are have a calendar/countdown before or is this the first?

Caggie09 · 05/10/2025 18:02

@MrsBnow12 I think its the first, but i could be wrong!
I actually bought a trio set of the Delinas 30ml in the sale after xmas. I still have them, but running low so i know i have this for when they finish. If i didnt get this countdown, i would of probably grabbed another set in the sale. I think i paid around £230/250 for it.

I ordered this, mainly for the Medik8 and am happy with it, it was delivered today.
More bits will go into my DIY advent and will sell the other bits.

I had some in my basket for a while but thought I'd wait for advent. I bought the green cream off vinted. It's OK. Im tempted. X

JoRaRaRa · 05/10/2025 20:13

I've been to the hbeauty event today at the metrocentre, they had some of the hair and body advent calendars on display and I got so excited seeing it so my husband decided to buy me it with the 10% off and then also being able to get 5 free samples 😁

I bought the men's penhaligon christmas discovery set for my husband, a Gisou hair perfume and a huda blush so I then got to pick 5 freebies, plus have a go on the spin to win, and I picked up my teddy chocolate advent calendar 😍 I also did the grab to win.

I've had a really great day! We arrived about 10am, we were allowed in at 10:30 to browse, I'd already done a short list of what I wanted so it didn't take long, my husband even had time to smell the penhaligon scents and make sure he would definitely wear them and I had time to compare a few liquid blushes and smell the hair perfume. We then joined the queue at 10:50 and then were quickly served at the tills when they opened at 11am. There wasn't really a queue for the freebies, and I enjoyed filling up mine and my husband's baskets 🤣 I received a pat mcgarth eye liner on the spin to win, which I'll definitely use. There wasn't a queue for the grab to win, they let me pick between 3 gifts out of the orange box and I picked a westman Atelier lip liner. I'm not sure what it is, but I always seem to lose them.

After this, I had a cocktail at the champagne bar, smelt the fragrances I thought I wanted from the HN fragrance advent calendar, I only liked 2, so I'm not bothering with that calendar, I'd rather just buy a full bottle. Smelt the PDM fragrances again. Visited the skincare counters, and attended the estée lauder master class.

I then visited some of the makeup counters, and managed to find the guerlain loose powder in the sale that harrods cancelled earlier in the week, so I promptly bought it and got a load of free samples, so that worked out well. I also did the ordinary bag charm, you have to buy the lip serum to do the charm, but it's only £6. We then went out of hbeauty for lunch, then came back for the guerlain masterclass and got a guerlain goody bag which luckily had different samples to the ones they'd previously given me. I didn't have time for the drybar blow dry, facials or the elemis skin test thing. Such an amazing day and my husband didn't huff too much.

See my photos of purchases and freebies 😍
