I've ordered JL . So I have Liberty and JL . I was going to look at SNKF but think I'll wait and use beauty drop credit if Liberty do a scent edit near Christmas like last year .

Where would my JL golden ticket be stored?
I just bought the calendar and a message popped up saying to check my golden ticket alas its nowhere to be found 🙈

What is the golden ticket?

@JoRaRaRa thanks, it’s definitely the only calendar I would like, I’d use everything. I’m just wondering if I should gamble on a better deal!

I am not quite sure, just know I was supposed to get one with my BAC purchase

Ah I get you now! I would just buy it if it's the one you want. There may be savings later but you might get worried and anxious that it'll sell out and you don't get your hands on it. Plus it might sell out before getting reduced.

I have the Harrods beauty, and have no regrets buying it before the 10% off offer.

@HolaLolla ive just purchased the JL calendar too and no sign of my golden ticket either!
This is my first advent in a few years, I’m thinking of using it in November as that’s my 50th birthday month and thought it’d be lovely to have a gift to me each day 😁

I wonder if the pop up is just a reminder to check for one, rather than an alert that you’ve actually got one?

I have contacted their CS as thought I was being daft not seeing it anywhere lol

@LoveLabradors I’d use the £10 voucher and buy it now if it’s the one you really
want. It does seem fairly popular and now that Harrods & SNK have sold out it could become an option for those who weren’t previously swaying towards it.

I definitely want it, then that will be my last one - I have Harrods & SNK already, I do not need a third one but I like a lot of the products. There’s a lot of fragrances in it as well which I have pre-tested and really like, and I’m planning to put a couple of them in DS stocking.
JL was the real stand out for me last year, so much so that I purchased a second one.
I'm just really irked that the price has gone up so much, I think it’s a bit cheeky being so close in price to the Harrods one yet no sign of similar premium products

It's when you create an account with them, you get a free welcome gift with your first purchase so I said to him that if he's going to order me it to make sure he creates an account first 🤣 If you already had an account with them, you won't receive a welcome gift but if not, then definitely get onto them as the option should've been there.

I got my golden ticket when I bought earlier - I bought through the JL app. When in my account on the app it’s under rewards at the top (I got a £5 off £50 spend).

I like the look of the John Lewis one but it seems very perfume and lip oil heavy. Has anyone ordered it?

Yes actually so has mine! The other thing I’m slightly worried about is that they were originally releasing to JL ‘members’ today and everyone else on 3/10 but seem to have released to everyone today!

I'm definitely going to get JL but will probably hang on until tomorrow or when my rewards reset.
There does seem to be a change though. On Beauty Advent Calendar, one of the contents was listed as Elizabeth Arden 8 hour hand cream but on the JL site, it's showing as the 8 hour Skin Protectant. I'm a little miffed. I'm a big fan of the Skin Protectant but I already have both the full size version and the 30ml version for my handbag and they last forever so I would really have preferred the handcream as it'll take ages to get round to using!
It's also annoying that the 30ml version is described as "full size" when a larger version is available. To my mind, 30ml is the travel/handbag size but I'm probably nit-picking. I guess in BAC context, "full size" is just "not a sample"

I see what you’re saying, but I don’t think that Harrods products are necessarily worth the prices that they charge. You pay more for the best ingredients in beauty products, but only up to a certain point. No face cream is really ‘worth’ £200+ or whatever Harrods claim. This is why Harrods can offer them at such a big discount.

It’s a bit like when Mulberry decided to massively hike their prices. The reasoning was that it made their products appear ‘more exclusive’, not that there was any increase in quality or production costs. I think often, the same principle applies to Harrods beauty. Rich people don’t want riffraff using the same face cream as them, in much the same way that middle class people don’t want to be using the same bags as poor people 😂.

Sorry if it's been mentioned but Aldi are bringing out a beauty advent.12 Days of Lacura Beauty Advent Calendar priced at £19.99 in a few weeks time.

@Growlybear83 There's not many to pick from for the 5ml welcome gift to be honest. It was either delina or palatine out of the feminine fragrances, it was mostly more masculine ones there. I did say to my husband to pick one for himself but he didn't want to. I don't think he can be bothered to look through them.

They only did 1 proper AC in the past and that included a turmeric oil serum (dupe for Sunday Riley vit C supposedly). This product never came on the shelves on its own afterwards and I really wanted to try it. but much later they launched it as a special buy luckily but with different colour packaging.
