Tooth whitening

Morning!

I’ve booked into the dentist to have some work done on my teeth. I have a hereditary enamel issue which has caused some wearing and they suggested composite veneers but tooth whitening first.

i started the tooth whitening last night and as soon as I put the trays in I was in a lot of pain with sharp electrical nerve ending pain. I had to take them out as there is no way I could sleep with them in.

im guessing this isn’t normal to feel this much pain and that it might be something to do with the week enamel.

Has anyone got experience of tooth whitening or having pain through tooth whitening.

i did research and it’s a very reputable cosmetic dentist. I am now worried I’ve spent a lot of money and I am stuck with this treatment.

any advice would be much appreciated.

First off after brushing at night use a sensitive toothpaste and rub into your teeth and leave on . Do this for a week or two then try again . Alternate each night with either sensitive toothpaste in trays or tooth mousse and whitening gel.

If no joy go back to dentist and they can try a lower strength gel.
