Cannot for the life of me get a comfortable bra. Bob calculator says 28gg which i cant get, but 32g will hardly close on me! I have sensory issues and cannot stand discomfort with clothing. Ive been wearing ugly bralettes that have my boobs down at my knees and aren't really that comfortable either. Any good supporting bralette recommendations? Or any words of wisdom?

Look up the sister size of 28gg and try that

dementedpixie · 26/09/2025 17:28

28GG sister sizes are 30G, 32FF, 34F
What brands/styles have you tried?

childofthe607080s · 26/09/2025 17:32

If a 32g “hardly closes” - the equivalent to 28gg would be 30g or 32 FF - so it’s more than the size of/ it’s the comfort that mattwrs

bravissimo have plenty of 28GG in their website

Where are you shopping? I know it is frustrating but shop around. Get a fitting done.

CafeDuck · 26/09/2025 17:54

I’m 50 and I’ve never owned a comfy bra.

Next has quite nice bras in large cup sizes. If you went for a 34f or ff that might be more comfortable. They have G cup as well so you might find a good 32 that does fit nicely.

I'm in love with my Evelyn & Bobbie beyond bra

it moulds to your shape and honestly it's wonderful. I got mine in John Lewis

Whatareyoutalkingaboutnow · 27/09/2025 07:50

M&S flexi fit are my most comfortable bras.

mummymissessunshine · 27/09/2025 23:48

If you can get to a R&P you will find them super helpful and so patient.

they will just bring you stuff if you explain what you need and the problems you have been having.
cannot fault their service (& I have many sensory issues!!!)

Bravissimo! It's the only place I'll buy bras and I get fitted there every couple of years. I almost gave up on underwire because I'd worn nursing bras for so long then the pandemic happened and I wore mostly (unsupportive, unflattering) bralettes. I tried to measure myself using the boob or bust method and bought some horribly uncomfortable underwired bras online, but I got back to Bravissimo and they managed to find styles that were not only comfortable but made me look so much better.

GloryFades · 27/09/2025 23:56

As an aside, I’m also a 28 in BOB and when I was measured professionally, but really only comfortable in a 32, but I’m only E cup (32D) so don’t need the band to give me as much support as you will.

ButterPiesAreGreat · 28/09/2025 00:27

Sugar Candy bras. Much more comfortable than anything I’ve ever worn.

LivingTheDreamish · 28/09/2025 00:35

I second Bravissimo as you can try on multiple styles/sizes and they have a huge range. A bra does need to be tight around the band to give proper support, and I appreciate that is trickier with sensory issues, but if it fits properly everywhere else any discomfort should be minimized.
