Erborian CC Cream - New Formula?

12 replies

My beloved erborian CC cream has run out and I've just discovered they've now changed the formula...Has anyone tried the new version? Is it as good as the old one?

Are the colours the same? More recently I bought the BB cream for the first time in my usual CC shade, Clair. The colour was nothing like my CC cream and way too pale for me so I ended up having to by another tube in Dore, I now mix them roughly 50:50 to get the right colour. Even with the colour mix, I'm not too keen on the BB and probably wouldn't buy it again.

Any insight would be appreciated, I can't afford to waste money at the moment.

Watching. Mine is running out and I was going to buy more, but not if it’s been ruined…!

My opinion probably isn't helpful, as I've only just discovered Erborian cc cream, and therefore am presumably using the new formulation without knowledge of the old formation, but I absolutely love it!

@Therapee that sounds promising. Do you mind me asking what colour you ordered? I had the Clair last time but if the BB cream is anything to go by I will need the darker Dore.

I’ve seen a lot of regular users trying the new shade (porcelain) and raving about it so can’t imagine it could have changed for the worse! Clair was too dark for me when I tried it so I have actually been tempted to try again and have ordered porcelain but it’s not been delivered yet

Ah I'm possibly talking about the wrong one then... I've got the red correct cc cream, and as far as I can tell it only comes in one shade.

I hadn’t realised that the formula had changed but a few weeks of a shiny forehead prompted me to google. I think I might have to look for an alternative which doesn’t turn me into an oil slick (skin is usually normal/ slightly dehydrated).

Hi, I have been a die hard Erborian user for a long time now so was really apprehended I heard they had changed thw formula. I can confirm that it seems the colours are the same, being a Claire user. One thing I can confirm is the consistency, which is thicker, and harder to blend. I get around this by using a milkier serum underneath an already rich face cream

I'm due to buy a new tube but am a bit worried about forking out only to find it's different and horrible! Are there any other brands that are recommended. Or do I just risk it?!

Lesserspottedbex · 28/03/2026 10:49

@ShoveItUpYourArseMargaret how did you get on with the new CC creme fomula? I've managed to track down what seems to be the last tube of the original so thinking of any future purchases - is it comparable? I wear clair high definition radiance at the moment and its the best thing I've ever had! ... Why do these companies change stuff all the time? - so annoying!! Please let me know your thoughts ... x

I bought it for the first time a few weeks ago. Maybe I’m using the new formula and have nothing to compare it to. I really like it though. I have Clair but I’m buying Dore too for summer when I’d like a bit more colour.
I have really dry skin and this blends well for me.

@wizardchess Did you risk it?
