I am not having luck with shopping for a wedding guest dress.

I am shopping for a wedding guest dress.

I bought a pink dress a few weeks ago. Other people done like it on me and apparantly I look washed out in it.

Then I bought a navy dress and it doesn't fit me. I bought my size. It has a band under the bust and a zip.

I looked at other dresses online and I found a few more. A lot of the dresses I see online have zips. Now I don't know if I should size up or remain with my own size.

I found another dress I like and it looks like a stretchy fabric and maybe it should fit me.

What do you think of this? Should I buy my size or size up?

Maybe you need to go to a shop and try a few things on. You don't seem to be having much luck shopping online.

Order both sizes and send one back.

Something else to add - I have loads of every day dresses in cotton and I bought them all online and they fit me. Cotton is so much more better.

I seem to be struggling when it comes to occasion dresses - maybe it's the fabric, fit and definitely zips.

I am not rich to be buying clothes. I have one more chance to get this right.

My local city doesn't have much shops unfortunately I won't get a chance to go shopping.

I buy all my clothes online now and I usually have luck.

I think you should wear the pink dress you liked which fitted and ignore the people who made rude comments about it.

Alternatively - size up. If a dress is fundamentally too tight on one part of the body but fits on others sizing up is unlikely to make it too big on the other parts. Beyond that I'm not sure, having seen your other thread, anyone can help.

Are the cotton dresses which fit you poplin or lawn [neither of which has any stretch] or cotton jersey which has?

Most clothing websites have size guides. Can you take your measurements and check them against the size chart, rather than just going by size?
