Nice dress zippi, and ignore coddalicious, she's just had a thread all about toe nails herself

zippitippitoes · 02/06/2008 19:36

i have only painted my toenails once in the last 35 years lol

and i have never been to this kind of event in my life

Oh, she'd answered now.

Don't do shrugs, they are 10 a penny.

Heels, simple necklace, smokey eyeliner, lots of mazzie.

zippitippitoes · 02/06/2008 19:39

i told bf i had bought my dressing up dress

to which he texted back

"what without seeing photos!? is it swish?"

he was going to send me photos of previous events

but i bravely went shopping anyway..

Oh what a lovely dress zippi.

Personally I paint whatever colour you, like. But preferably bold.

red if you want I'd go more dark crimson personally. Or some nioce shimmery silvery stuff.

What necklaces have you got?

That dress is a stunner!!! Lovin it! And you can eat tons of puddings and your tummy will always look good

IMHO, in that dress, if your shoes are high black sandals then toe nails should be very pale. Let the dress, the jewelery and the bag do the talking.

You better get out of that mindset. You cannot wear that dress with the wrong attitude. You must never step out feeling "I am too old". You must step out saying "my dress is fabulous and I look hot. You will!! Its a fab dress. Book a professional blow dry now for the afternoon of the do.

very nervous

i feel i will be scrutinised as he has workde there for ages and i am 20 years older a fact which i dont really want to draw attention to or as little as possible

and we have to eat at tables too

i am hoping he is going to help me out

maidamess · 02/06/2008 19:46

Zippi, you HAVE to wear mascara. You must have some eyelashes, no matter how woeful.

piratecat · 02/06/2008 19:46

lmao

can just hear it now 'did you see the TOES on her ?' cor!!

brucelovesfrumpygrumpy · 02/06/2008 19:46

then we'll agree to disagree. I think that dress with coloured nails cheapens it. I think you need to have dramatic earrings, ring and bracelet, maybe no necklace, and maybe deep red lipstick if you can't do smokey eyes.

And definitely get a professional blow dry.

zippitippitoes · 02/06/2008 19:48

i cant have my hair done on the day because its where he is in london so will have to get ready at his

i will probably be given about 30 minutes

and then have to walk there at big stride pace so i am planning to take high heels with me in a shoe bag

i dont normally wear heels

in fact the last time i did had my serious ankl;e incident

zippi - In a black tie event, especially a 'ball', women will normally be wearing long dresses. As in, touching the floor.

Sorry to say this (since you already bought the dress), but thought you should know.

MarsLady · 02/06/2008 19:51

I think that toes with a french polish look wonderful. Then you'll definitely get the "Cor look at those toes!" I do, every time!
