Black capsule wardrobe for work

I want to smarten myself up at work as I spend a lot of time there and outside of work I don’t really get the chance to dress up.

It’s a customer facing role (hotel) and I have to wear black. I can wear white as a shirt or top underneath, or have a white stripe etc. on the black.

I have 3 pairs of black slacks I’ll bee keeping and 2 smart midi dresses. Also, recently invested in nice shoes.

Aside from this, how can I create a capsule black wardrobe?

You have to be in black so I’d be looking at texture and shape for interest in your tops. So nice fabrics, interesting details in the cut and maybe a couple of jackets and some accessories - a good belt, boots for winter, etc.

Who pays for your work clothes? And what’s your budget?

I pay for my work clothes. I don’t want to spend loads, as it’s work, and I’m not well paid!

My budget is about £500
