Smarter daytime coat or jacket for autumn/winter

I always feel scruffy when I go meet my adult DCs or friends in cities because all my coats are outdoor brands and styles.
Me and my DH do a lot of walking and hiking so tend to visit outdoor shops and I inevitably end up buying my coats there.

So I'm looking for a smarter style for city lunches and shopping weekends, not dog walks and trips to the Lakes (got that all covered with bells on!

Colour: dark neutral
Style: not a lot of fussy details, single breasted, not short and boxy but not too long, prefer no hood, proper turn down collar
Material: NO wool due to allergies
Function: look smarter but not too formal, warmth but not for the depths of winter
Budget up to £150 bearing in mind it's not for wool

I am tall, size 16-18 so need longer or at least not particularly short arm length

Feel free to point me in the right direction of a description to search for eg "single breasted mac" .

Thank you!

Wallis do exactly these kind of coats. Have a look at the crepe pea coats, scarf detail coat, funnel coat etc. There's loads in at the moment in all kinds of dark neutral colours. I'd be amazed if you didn't see something suitable from what you describe!

@CherryblossomRose you are absolutely right, just had a quick look before dinner and think I will find something I like there, thank you so much!
