Where to shop for occasion/party dress for tween DD(11)

DD(11) is going to a posh party - think ballgown/black tie type affair. She’s at that awkward in-between age where she’s too old for little girl style party dresses but not quite old (or shapely) enough for a more formal long/prom style dress.

She’s not into frills or sparkles - she wants something smart, pretty and also fashionable. Can be long or short. She wears clothes size age 10-11.

Can anyone recommend where to look for a nice dress that might fit the bill?

River Island? Their kids stuff is quite fashionable I find.

Check occasion wear for girls in Next.

One of my DC had similar sounding criteria events twice last year and we found something there both times.

I ended up ordering approx twenty different options online but thankfully I was able to return instore which saved a lot of time.

I used to find New Look did a good in-between range of clothes but maybe not party dress season at the moment.

Thankyou all.

@Ionlymakejokestodistractmyself that Lipsy dress is nice thanks, I didn’t realise they did kids clothes too so I’ll show dd in the morning see what she thinks.

She’s not so keen on river island these days but absolutely loves new look. It was the first place I looked at but there’s not much party-wise in there at the moment. @Doingmybest12 like you say it might be a bit too soon so maybe I need to hold on a few more weeks. I’ll also check out monsoon too.
