Face tanning drops

SplatSplash · 14/09/2025 18:07

I'm down to the last drops of my Body Shop Drops of Sun tanning drops and just discovered they were discontinued ages ago.

Any recommendations for a replacement please? I'm very fair of skin so nothing too drastic please

I swear by the Tropic ones - they are the only ones that don’t make me orange! I’m very fair too.

GiantMoa · 14/09/2025 18:13

I love the Votary ones and will be rebuying them. I'm currently using Clarins and even using 6 drops at night is making no difference to my very pale skin, I would not recommend these!

LibbyL92 · 14/09/2025 18:40

The tan luxe is a good one! But most of them seem to break my skin out so I’ve stopped using

BratPitt · 14/09/2025 18:46

Strangely enough, I love the Clarins ones as they aren't too dark, but 3 drops is enough to give me a decent tan on very fair skin.

The Pai ones are my favourite for my ultra sensitive skin, Look Fantastic usually have a deal on.

AlexandraJJ · 14/09/2025 19:03

Skinny tan works best for me

CurlyFerret · 14/09/2025 19:20

Another vote for Votary, I’m on my second bottle and find them really good mixed in with my moisturiser

WeirdyBeardyMarrowBabyLady · 14/09/2025 19:20

Tropic or Clarins

Moneymaybe · 14/09/2025 19:21

And another vote for Votary. Got them in a beauty box and repurchased because I was so impressed. Never had a mishap with them, which I did with Tan Luxe & Isle of Paradise. They’re lovely.

I wonder if mine are faulty somehow? They're genuinely doing nothing and I am very fair-skinned. I was at the hairdresser the other day for a consultation and was shocked how pale and tired I'm looking (I am tired but I was hoping the tan drops would lessen the pale somewhat!).

ConstantlyFuriosa · 14/09/2025 20:10

I really like the tan luxe ones with hyaluronic acid. They give a lovely soft, glowy colour.

SplatSplash · 14/09/2025 22:03

Thanks all. I actually cracked and bought some of the Body Shop one from eBay! Bit pricey but should last me until next summer.

Useful to have alternatives for next year though.

I tried the Clarins ones in store recently on the inside of my wrist. The sales lady found it really hard to get any drops out and they didn’t make even a slight difference to my skin. I’d set my hopes on these, but a lot of reviews are saying they’re not as good as they used to be.

GiantMoa · 16/09/2025 08:44

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie Yes, that's the other problem with the Clarins one, the drops are hard to get out. The body version has the same problem. I should probably just bin them both and buy the ones I like but I really hate waste.

TheLilacStork · 16/09/2025 08:57

I use Tropic but I also liked the Votary ones too

ConstantlyFuriosa · 16/09/2025 09:36

That’s a shame to hear about the Clarins drops because I’ve always found their self tan to be the best.

Ffshowcouldthishappen · 16/09/2025 10:12

I love the skin & tan ones (formally skinny tan). Not too dark, not too orange, and a good price point.

scandinavianyellow · 16/09/2025 15:08

Are these temporary?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/09/2025 16:43

Thanks everyone. Are the Votary ones stocked in any real shops or just online?

EverythingIsComputer · 16/09/2025 16:56

My Clarins ones don’t do much for me and I find them sticky when added to my lotion. Had a sample of tan luxe ones which were great but I refuse to shell out so much on them.

TheFlis · 16/09/2025 16:58

I use the Nip Fab ones and they give a lovely, natural glow.

Ffshowcouldthishappen · 16/09/2025 20:41

scandinavianyellow · 16/09/2025 15:08

Are these temporary?

Yes. They are fake tan that you add to your daily moisturizer. Stop using them and it fades.

Same here! I have very pale skin in the winter and 3 drops every other day, gives me a nice warm colour. I love them.

SapatSea · 18/09/2025 19:35

Lancaster ones are good
