Boho clothing

I’ve never quite grown out of my hippie chick phase and I keep seeing dresses that (to me) are absolutely stunning and I love, Lots of different websites are advertising the same clothes and they all look amazing. The problem is when I check Trustpilot all of the reviews say to avoid these companies like the plague, not to be trusted, goods not delivered etc.

Can anyone help with where they can be bought? They are obviously made somewhere and someone must legitimately sell them but so far I haven’t been able to find anywhere that doesn’t seem to be a scam site.

Has anyone ever bought anything like this? Where did you get it from? These internet sites are impossibly cheap so I don’t mind paying more to get what I want.

Might be better to buy this sort of thing in person rather than online? There is was festival near me in the summer that sells things like this or a hippy shop in a nearby city. Online shop wise you could check disturbia but I don't think it's quite the right thing. Hopefully someone else will give you a better answer!

MontyStrikesAgain · 14/09/2025 22:18

I would listen to Trustpilot if the reviews are bad.

I would be very careful. Think how expensive a dress like that should be if it is made properly. Most likely it’s a piece of polyester that looks absolutely nothing like the images. A lot of these images are AI generated.

Crispynoodle · 14/09/2025 23:10

Your algorithm has picked up your like for boho and adverts will be tailored to that bombarding you across all your social media sites. Do not be fooled these companies are likely to send cheap tat from China many of us have been fooled. Well done for checking trust pilot first. What I do now is search Vinted you could try ‘boho dress’ or some boho brands such as monsoon

TheLeadbetterLife · 14/09/2025 23:54

Those images are AI I'm afraid OP - they're being generated because you're looking for them. Real dresses like that would be artisan made and cost a lot.

ChelseaDetective · 15/09/2025 00:40

Yes, sorry OP - those dresses are AI pictures and the dresses, if they exist at all, will be just skimpy polyester tat from scam companies in China. Don’t be tempted.

Are you sure you want something so dramatic? Would you be a collector or are you looking for something to wear? If so do you want day, lounge or evening wear?

I think you might like Pavilion Parade. Joanne is based in Devon and works with special vintage and antique fabrics and trims. The link here says shoes but there are clothes as well. She’s always sold out of her beautiful one of a kind confections but a girl can dream - she does take commissions, which would realistically be the only way to secure something. Pavilion Parade

What do you think of this, OP?

Ewa I Walla. Swedish, pretty widely available from UK online boutiques.

Do look it up - Known for layered dresses, petticoats etc, these are perhaps not the best outfits to have shown you!

I also like that type of clothing and saw some online (usually from Chinese companies) that looked absolutely beautiful and at cheap prices. However when I zoomed in to the image, I could see that all the detail (ruched material, embroidery etc) was actually just printed on to the (cheap and flimsy) fabric! It was so weird, like a picture on fabric. It looked great from a distance but up close was a different story!

sadtimeshardtimes · 15/09/2025 08:01

Gringo have some cute hippy clothes. Only ever seen the shop in Tenby but I’m sure it’ll be on line too.

Haye to say it but look on Shein carefully. They have “brands” not the usual polyester clothing

CharlieKirkRIP · 15/09/2025 08:04

AI crap! Here’s the dress in a different colour!

look on ETSY under Fairy core for a real dress.

I agree that All About Audrey would be perfect for you, OP. Not the best quality fabrics, but decent enough and good designs. For better quality, look at Haruka. Lovely clothes with hippy vibe, properly made too.

RaininSummer · 15/09/2025 09:01

Take a trip to Glastonbury and Totnes maybe as total boho vibe in those places and may be actual shops with suitable clothing. Some of Joe browns offerings can get a bit hippy.

Nannyfannybanny · 15/09/2025 09:11

Don't know if they are boho enough for you, but I get dresses from Jo Brown, vinted..got an amazing crocheted waistcoat.. should have kept my stuff from the 70s.. depending where you are, you can often pick up one offs, second hand/antique shops,Lewes, Hastings,Rye

CharlotteCChapel · 15/09/2025 10:24

Sahara do mainly boho , but they're pricey

IHaveAlwaysLivedintheCastle · 15/09/2025 10:26

You could try Pink City Prints. Genuine brand from a Glasgow based designer. I don't have any of their stuff but I've seen it in independent shops.

There's also Joannie- the Celia Birtwell collection might fit the remit.

Its an AI generated image, not printed fabric.

Thank you everyone for replying and for giving links to some sites with some lovely clothing.

It is such a shame that the beautiful dresses online most probably are AI generated. There is obviously something not right when dresses advertised for under a tenner would easily cost well over £100 if it were genuine. Fortunately I always check Trustpilot first before ordering anything online. If something looks too good to be true it generally is 😂

Thank you to everyone who gave advice and gave links to follow - I’ve already found a few things that I like and am considering ordering.

If those dresses were genuine you’d be talking thousands, not around £100.

What lovely things are you thinking of ordering, OP?
