Hi all really need advice on face cream. Ive been using Clinique moisture surge, but I find my skins is still getting dry. I'm 48 and just don't know what will be good anymore.
I've seen lots of things about Elf but not sure that would offer enough hydration

I'm a similar age to you. I found not washing my face in the morning helped (just splashing water on it) and then weirdly Dove soap after cleansing at night. Also try a hydrating toner and serum. I'm currently using Althetia toner (and sometimes the oil) or the L'Oréal hylaronic toner. And then a serum (currently Hada Labo premium lotion...amazing!). Then a basic cream I got in a French pharmacy. I don't rely on a cream to hydrate my skin really.

also similar rave to you and my skin has got really dry - I now use. moisture surge as a base layer and then Kiehls ultra facial cream as on top. At night I use moisture surge intense. I’ve also found what cleanser you use makes a difference - I use Clinique take the day off and it helps my skin stay hydrated.

what other products are you using? It might be something you’re using that is drying your skin out more.

I was using a number 7 cleanser so might switch and try the clinique as well. Thanks

Clarins Hydra Essentiel range is amazing for dry skin.

Temple Spa Double Cream is amazingly hydrating. I use it as a night cream all year and quite often in the winter as a day cream, when I don't need spf. I'm 68 and my skin has got dryer as I get older.

Really enjoying Optima range at Superdrug with collagen. My old skin looks great. They do a day cream and a night cream version.

I had been using Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream which I loved but have switched to The Inkey List on a recommendation and I can't see any difference, other than the fact that's it's much cheaper.

I sort of think Clinique has had it's day sadly. It hasn't put out anything really innovative in ages. Shame. I grew up on the 3 step routine and loved all the gifts with purchases over the years.

Coats water cream, morning and night. Hyaluronic acid beforehand in the evening. Avene cicalfate every few days before bed!

Adding a hydrating serum into your routine can help. A hylauronic acid serum locks in moisture before you add a moisturiser into top.
