Nearly ruined my hair extensions - how can I stop it happening again?

I have blonde hair extensions. I was recently on holiday and got back and they were orange and pink. Apparently this can happen when the hair comes into contact with SPF. I thought I’d done a good job avoiding it but clearly not. I’ve used Malibu C and it’s got the pinkness out, but what can I do for the next trip away I take?

Does the colour wow shield them? I was hoping there might be something I can spray on my hair to prevent it?

This has happened to me. I’m not convinced it’s just to do with SPF, I think just exposure to strong UV light will do it.

I have had this happen when I wasn’t even wearing SPF

The only way to really protect your hair is by wearing a hat or a bandanna. SPF sprays, even if they work, will cause a build up and then you just have to use more damaging chemicals to get your hair clean again.

I’m not sure if it is though as the Malibu c completely removed it

I’m getting mine switched in a couple of weeks. Will take some spf and try the old ones under the nail lamp with and without and report back!
