Co-wash

Hi,
Does anyone use co-wash instead of shampoo and conditioner. I have straight originally greasy hair but as I've got older I feel it's become drier and more prone to frizz. Thought I would try some and my hair did feel nice but now is very greasy after half a day?

I tried it and had the same result as you OP. I told my hairdresser and she said that it is only really meant for curly hair and definitely not fine, straight hair.

It’s shit

It’s for curly hair I think. I find my hair is now also frizzier so I shampoo roots only and let it run through the lengths only whilst I’m rinsing. Then I use a rich mask

I need to use proper quality products now too. Not the supermarket stuff which has very little in the way of nurturing ingredients

Curly hair is naturally dry so it works. I only wash with conditioner and have done for years. I think theres some element of getting your hair used to it tho

I have fine curly hair and think co-washing is absolutely useless. Makes my scalp really uncomfortable and itchy and my hair lank and greasy.

Same. Fine hair, lots of it and it just gives flat coily roots stuck to my head with no volume.

It’s awful stuff. I have quite curly hair but it just makes mine greasy and weird.

I have very thick, dry, curly hair. I have co washed for years now and it suits my hair. It sounds like your hair isnt suitable for co washing.

I use aunt Jackie’s https://amzn.eu/d/eFKbLF9 which is a reasonable price and works really well for my dry curly hair. Didn’t get on with As I Am. But I’d be cautious about using co wash if my hair was in any way prone to greasiness
