Ive always tried to look after myself with style and beauty.
Ive had my haircut so its still longish ( well shoulder length)but all the rats tails have gone it looks good and the colour is lovely, my eyebrows are threaded and eye lashes tinted, etc etc.
I practically do everything thats on the 'princessing' threads.

I saw someone today who i haven't seen in 8 months ( please note months, not years!!)
She was chatting and I said id been really busy. She said yeah I can tell, you look 10 years older!!
This person isnt a bitch or anything but does speak before thinks!
Hmm! 😆🤣
Looks like ive got some serious de-aging to try and do!

That’s really harsh. Could it be that you look a bit tired and weary if you’ve been very busy rather than that much older in a few months?

Gervhill · 12/09/2025 15:22

Or maybe it’s jealousy if you’ve had these little touches recently?

notacooldad · 12/09/2025 15:41

Ive always had things like eyelashes, threading tinting done well for the last 40 years!
I know there's no malice and I probably do look tired today.

I just thought ' Bloomin' heck!!! I thought i looked alright when I left the house!!! 😆

Good job that ,although I am a bit vain, I can laugh about it.

You're far nicer than I am OP, because that is a really rude thing for her to have said and I'd have pulled her up on it to be honest!

Floisme · 12/09/2025 16:16

I was told the same thing a few months ago op by a trusted friend. I’d been ill and it was true!

I’ve no princessing advice I’m afraid as I’m not interested in any of it - I’m only on this board for the clothes.

My one and only tip is to only do the things you enjoy doing because aging is inevitable and it seems pointless to me to spend your time fighting it - unless like I’ve said, they’re things you’d do anyway

Clearly you've been wasting your time and money on all the fancy beauty stuff and should give up and concentrate on the boring, cheap stuff like drinking plenty of water, getting enough sleep, eating a varied diet with lots of fruit and veg. and exercising to de-stress! Spend the savings on tickets for a comedy gig (if smiling takes years off you then laughter ought to shift a decade or so), theatre, film, concert or whatever to help you relax...
On the bright side, when life eases up you can look forward to shedding ten years!
