40th Birthday dress!

I posted here a few days ago and no one replied 😔. Posting again in the hope I get replies!

Help me find a 40th Birthday dress! I want to feel confident and sexy and stand out as the Birthday girl.

It’ll be in October for wearing to a cocktail bar with DJ in Central London - lots of dancing involved.

I love square necks and I like my cleavage or décolletage being on show. I love bold and bright colours and patterns, leopard print, and adore sequins. I also do like some plain clothes so long as they are cut interestingly.

I’m a size 16 and have a huge stomach.
I’m an hourglass.
I usually wear midi dresses.
Open to sleeves or no sleeves.

I’d like the dress to be under £100 ideally, but I’d go up to around £250 if it was really stunning.

I like Never Fully Dressed for these type of dresses, they tend to have designs you can wear multiple ways, like back to front so you can have different necklines. They have dresses with added sparkle or bold pattern but they’re not OTT or Christmas tree like.

love the colour. I know there’s not many sizes available but if you stalk them they come back in regularly.

I got a gorgeous dress for my 40th from Queen of archive - I was a size 16 when I ordered it, they went up to an XL which i think was 14-16 so I was a bit sceptical about whether it would fit but it did and I loved it. I’ve since lost a lot of weight and I can’t see it to buy again so I’m going to have it taken in by a tailor nearby - it’s my favourite dress I’ve ever owned, felt utterly fabulous in it.

They have a lot of amazing sequin options too and I like the way the cuts are a bit more casual on some of them so it’s not full on ball gown

I love many of the clothes in Rixo and have a few, but hoping not to spend anywhere over £200+!

I also really like Never Fully Dressed and Kitri but never bought anything from either, and I like lots of the Warehouse dresses but they’re all out of stock in my size.

thank you for having a look for me. I love the gold foil print and the colour of the dress, but I prefer to have a lower neckline and if a dress is that long, to have a slit in it. It is lovely though and maybe I need to try something in a different style.

Thank you for your recommendation, I hadn’t heard of them before. I’ve just had a look and they have some gorgeous items butt there isn’t much choice and they’re a bit more expensive that what I’d like to pay.

No they seem to be going through a seasonal change on there and there’s barely anything on the website at the moment. I was spying something up recently considering it and went back to buy it a couple of days ago and it, along with almost everything else, had vanished!
worth keeping an eye out for their sales though, I’ve bought a couple of things for about half price on there over the last year or so.
