For date night at a chain restaurant in a trendy suburban area.

Is it a first date?

Something very casual that I would wear during the day- today I wore cropped combats and a cropped cotton jumper. I’d wear that sort of thing

Assuming it's not Pizza Hut (Ivy? Bills?), I'd go for "jeans and nice top" sort of vibe or a dress and boots.

Midi dress and either trainers or chunky books and tights weather dependent. With leather jacket if chilly.
Probably not very fashionable any more but makes me feel comfortable and attractive.

Can you tell us what you usually go for, OP? Do you like dresses, do you have a specific style (e.g. retro/alternative/ floral, etc? tight fitting vs looser, short skirts, arms bare, etc.?). Just to give an idea of where to start.

I tend to dress up whenever I can! I love a dress, often a little bit alternative, midi length with a cinched waist, or a skirt with a slightly cropped t shirt.

I really like: https://www.disturbia.co.uk/collections/womens-dresses

And, if I can afford them/ find something on Vinted:

I also often like stuff from &Other Stories, Zara, and Hush. It really depends what kind of style you feel most comfortable in.
