What shoes with this dress?

I'm having to give a victim impact statement tomorrow in court and am planning on wearing this dress. I am pretty stressed out and so am obsessing about what shoes to wear.
I have almost every colour under the sun and prefer heels. Am in a major city centre so can have a look around beforehand if need be...
Any suggestions would be much appreciated

It may be that people are hesitating to comment because (and I really don’t want to add to your stress) your dress looks quite - celebratory. But if that’s your usual style there’s no need to change it, of course.

I would wear shoes that are reasonably formal but comfortable - and not your very favourites, in case you afterwards feel reluctant to wear anything associated with tomorrow’s event.

A black, plain, small heel or flat. Do you have a black blazer or cardigan?

The dress has puffed sleeves - so it won’t be terribly easy to get a blazer over it.

As the OP isn’t counsel I really don’t think it’s necessary for her to wear black - but it might be politic to tone things down a little. Unless she is already famously glamorous and dressing to meet expectations.

Thanks all, I am normally incredibly colourful so this would be considered subdued for me. The sentencing is for my ex husband due to emotional abuse, coercive control, harassment and stalking. I want to respect the surroundings while showing him that he hasn't broken me. One of the things he hated was how vibrant I was and constantly tried to get me to dress down. Since leaving I have started to try and get my life back, including in the way I dress.

I like the sleeves. I’d wear a plain low court shoe. For court. I hope it goes ok.
