Splitting nail...best varnish?

The nail on my non-dominant index finger keeps splitting down the middle.
I don't generally use nail Polish on my fingernails and am otherwise healthy, but everytime I cut it short, and as soon as it gets any length, it splits. I'm exasperated at this stage so think a good strong clear Polish might strengthen it but am clueless as to what brand is good.

Biotin tablets and CND rescue rxx, a topical treatment works for me. But neither are a magic bullet. And take time.luck

And then I use Glaize nails once my nails get above my finger tip.
