Please help me finding the righe suit!

My industry is normally VERY informal, including our local events, but I have been invited to an international conference in a formal role. It will be December in a very cold European location.
I don't own any suits.

I am 43, 5'3, size 16, apple shape. I only suit flared or wide legs , that balance out my tummy, and that's not hard to find at the moment, but the effect is normally defeated by the long and boxy blazers, he combo would make me bigger overall. If I could wear any blazer unbuttoned to show a shorter shirt that would be great but don't know if appropriate. Otherwise I'd need a different shape but on the high street it's bordering on impossible.

Any suggestions?

Does it have to be a suit? Gorgeous wide leg trousers and a shirt or top in a luxe fabric you love could be just as formal and more stylish and comfortable. While it may be very cold outside, won't you be comfortable inside? You just need a decent coat to go over the outfit.

Separate pieces are actually a very good idea, also because I risk indeed to be too hot inside.
I like the M&S jacket though with high waisted trousers, need exactly that effect of elongating my legs!
Any suggestions for tops as well?

My first thought was a high necked silk blouse (even with ties or bow) or a silk shell top - but it's going to depend on what neckline suits/you want. I am large of nork so a v-neck or shirt shape tends to suit.

I prefer v-necks as my neck is unfortunately pretty stocky (it's always been like that even when I was a size 10-12!), with high necks I have to be quite careful with the choice of the necklace (which I always have to extend 🙄). Bows disguise it so that's another option yes.

But some gorgeous ideas, thank you!

Thank you for letting me fantasy shop! I was thinking some point heeled boots too.

I realise these pieces were possibly out of your budget range (me too) but once you have an idea of shape etc you can look for more affordable options and on Vinted.

And I hear you - about to take my necklaces that seem to have become chokers of late to a jeweler to see if they can be extended!
