Has anyone bought anything from Cider?

I keep getting adverts for it on Facebook, and I really like the look of some of their stuff - I like a slightly boho look. However, it’s surprisingly reasonably priced, and I’m suspicious that it’s therefore cheap crap.

Anyone tried their stuff and care to share?

Following with interest.

Saw a gorgeous summer dress on there that I'd love to get married in. Just need to find someone to propose to me!

Smartiepants79 · 04/09/2025 19:44

We bought a selection in the summer
for my DD. Some of it was very nice. Decent quality and a good fit.
Some of it less so.
The two main issues I had were -lots of it takes a while to get here

  • you only get 2 weeks to send it back, we ended up with a few bits that I couldn’t return cos I’d messed up the return dates.
Did manage to sell them on vinted.
nhsmanagersanonymous · 04/09/2025 19:45

Dd has quite a few things. Generally the quality is ok, it’s cheap so don’t expect too much but a lot of it is very pretty,

MadameSzyszkoBohusz · 04/09/2025 20:09

Soooo, as you all are buying from there for your DDs, am I right in thinking it’s more appropriate for young women, rather than those of us in our early mid alright it’s probably late 40s?

It’s rubbish. Ordered several times and it’s Shein quality but their sizing is all over the place

Lightuptheroom · 04/09/2025 20:30

I've ordered different bits from them, you do have to check the measurements on each item as they're not consistent and check the prices as you order as some are advertised with a 'price bracket' rather than an actual price to check your basket carefully before checking out. I've found the quality to be fine

TheZenOne22 · 04/09/2025 20:34

I’ve ordered ordered some jumpsuits and some trousers from there (after seeing a friend wearing them and loving them). The jumpsuits fit really well and always get compliments. The trousers are basic for work, I’m happy with them. I had to send a few items back due to the sizing.

MyTommyGunDont · 04/09/2025 20:35

I have some lovely bird from there and I’m in my late 30s. I have had some cheap looking stuff I’ve sent back but have some really lovely cord jumpsuits that are fab quality.

ThatCyanCat · 04/09/2025 20:36

Come on, OP, look at the prices. Just how good can it be?

They are so good at finding attractive styles and I don't know how they make the pictures look so appealing, but you know it's paper thin sweatshop shite.

How Ethical Is CIDER? - Good On You

If you're on TikTok, you might have come across a mysterious brand from Hong Kong: CIDER. But how ethical is CIDER?

WhamBamThankU · 04/09/2025 20:38

I ordered something that never turned up and they wouldn’t refund me

CharlotteCChapel · 04/09/2025 20:56

It doesn't matter how much you pay even relatively posh brands come out badly. Me&Em is a beloved MN expensive store. They come out badly too

ThatCyanCat · 04/09/2025 21:12

True, even brands that used to be good quality are going to the dogs these days and expensive doesn't mean good. But when prices are far below what it would cost to make a decent item, you know what you're going to get.

I'm not lecturing or moralising at anyone, times are hard and quality everywhere is falling, but OP asked if Cider was any good. I know how tempting the adverts are, but look at the prices... can that cover decent material and good production? How much can you actually get for that?

BitOutOfPractice · 04/09/2025 21:14

I’ve bought quite a lot from Cider. I’ve found the quality to be surprisingly good.

henlake7 · 04/09/2025 23:36

It's pretty much in the cheap and cheerful category, quality is ok but not great.
I've only ever bought their stuff from Vinted though.

Yes, I think I did know that, I was just hoping for a unicorn.

It’s so rare I see anything on the high street that I both like and can afford!!

I’m in my early 40s and have had quite a few good things from cider. A better hit/miss rate than shein and things have lasted/washed well too.

GucciTennisShoesRunninFromYourIssues · 06/09/2025 10:16

Cider is a scam. Look on TikTok at 'cider scams'
they buy clothes from shein and rebrand them.

Lafufufu · 06/09/2025 10:16

2 x jumpers.
They were shit.
Looked fine initially but plastic.
Washed terribly. Got 3 wears out of each?

notacooldad · 06/09/2025 10:20

People keep going on about Shein quality like its a terrible thing.
I gave it ago not expecting much.

I got a long dress for work which has had loads of compliments, a couple of really nice swimsuits that are thick enough not to be see throgh but look good on the beach and a few pairs of wide leg trousers that look good As well as several t shirts. My manager has got her work skirts and tops from there as well I know some stuff is not going to be great but not everything in H and M, Primark and even M and S is top quality either.

ThatCyanCat · 06/09/2025 10:27

swimsuits that are thick enough not to be see throgh

The fact that you have to specify this as a plus! It's the absolute bare minimum!

frozenshoulderhell · 06/09/2025 11:36

Had a few bits from here and thought they were good quality for the price... I'm 57 so definitely not just for the teenagers !

notacooldad · 06/09/2025 12:55

@ThatCyanCat
swimsuits that are thick enough not to be see throgh, ,
*The fact that you have to specify this as a plus! It's the absolute bare minimum!

Of course it should be a minimum, but I've been caught out by other brands when I've ordered on line and theyve been practually see through when ive tried them on, never mind when they are wet.

I was just making the point they weren't flimsy cozzies worn for just sitting on the beach and were decent quality.

Toddlerteaplease · 06/09/2025 13:40

I bought a jumper from there. It was too big for me so I exchanged it with no issues. Although the size down was still to big. So I gave up. Quality was ok though.
