Is this weird?

Would it be weird to start wearing Japanese style aprons/pinafore smocks as part of my day to day wardrobe for work?

eg. This or this?

I work in a non-uniformed community healthcare role. I thought they would look quite cute with blouses/shirts and trousers or long skirts and also quite practical for sticky toddler hands, over friendly dogs, occasional baby wee incidents etc.

I just don’t know if it’s a bit pretentious to be flouncing around in an apron when you aren’t baking, crafting etc. Or if I could get away with it being a kind of chic, unstructured Toast-esque look…

I think it is a great idea and I like the way they look

I like them both but the first one most.
Crack on.

Love them both!

Not sure it would look good with trousers as they are very dress like.
But it sounds like a very practical idea and I love pinafore dresses, which they closely resemble!

I like the first one, but it’s pretty much a dress, not an apron, so think it would be fine

Make your own! There are books on eBay that beautiful step by step diagrams.
