Pressed powder recommendation

I definitely need some powder on my t-zone. Can anyone recommend a good pressed powder that won't be cakey or look too dry. I've got a loose powder (from AYU) which gives a lovely finish but it is so bloody messy! (or is there a knack to applying it so that it doesn't go all over my dressing table?!)

The HG. By Terry Hylaronic Powder. You will never look back.

I like the translucent pressed powder from No7. Applied with a brush, hardly there, but shine free.

Nars

Agreed it's lovely.but maybe a bit reflective for your tzone? Or mine anyway.

This. By Terry is great. I use the darker ones as well when I have some colour in the summer

If you don't mind spending a lot, the Givenchy pressed powder is the best I've used. Mattifies but invisible on. Nice compact and you can get refills (still expensive though).

Thanks everyone. I have the Hourglass Ambient Light but I find it way too shimmery for my tzone and prefer to use it as a highlighter.

Lots of suggestions here so I'll have to head into town soon and see if I can look at them in real life!

I use the NARS light reflecting setting pressed powder. It is gorgeous - very fine, very light, but cuts the shine without ever becoming patchy or heavy. It's something I buy on repeat whenever I hit the pan.

Nitgel · 04/09/2025 12:47

I use mac blot

Summerhillsquare · 04/09/2025 12:49

I have some nice Pixi by Petra stuff, I think you can test it in marks and Spencer.

Rina66 · 04/09/2025 12:51

Either the By Terry (best for under eyes) or Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish (best for T zone)

Yes I love this too

On the cheaper side, Soap and Glory do a brilliant mattifying powder, think it’s called One Heck of a Blot. Not luxurious packaging but great product.

TheTruthWillSetYouFreeMaybe · 07/09/2025 18:33

I have the L’Oréal True match powder (I use a small brush instead of the puff that comes with it). It’s not massively expensive , I’ve tried those - but as a quick, powder down - it works for me

Fenty is good, and I am super oily

Tip a small bit into the lid, put powder brush into it once and ‘blot’ it on the back of your hand before applying it. I don’t have any mess doing this.
