The Frump is back!

We often see the word frump or frumpy on here. Interesting article in Vogue that talks about The Frump being back on the catwalks 😂 . Vogue is not normally something I read but saw the headline..

I've seen quite a bit of this high fashion frump lately, lots young women in a line skirts and baggy tops

The window display in our local John Lewis this weekend was pure Miss Marple. A-line knee length pleated tweed and fitted cardigan with a shirt underneath and leather hand held bag.

I love the aesthetic but I dont think I could make it look cool.

I think this is the thing. Youngsters may look ok with this but me in this 😂

I'm guessing this style would be considered " frump" .

God this is so 2005. Very Rory Gilmore at Yale. I won't be revisiting this look, though I dipped into it at the time, as I was also at university and it was quite preppy.

I'm also not crazy about brown as my mother seemed to always dress me in it 😬 . Shops are full of it.

I noticed that the term " grab bag" has crept in everywhere now. 😬

It looks similar to the Marc Jacobs 'sexy secretary' look of around..... 2003? (Not my description so don't waste your time shouting). Just a bit more ramshackle this time around. I'm a big fan of Miss Marple style so I'm happy.

Haha I wondered why, a few days ago, a lovely 20-something woman stopped me in the street to tell me how great she thought I look - a surprising and very pleasing experience. I was wearing a longish A-line denim skirt, baggy taupe sweatshirt, woolly socks and birkenstocks!
