The “no eyebrow” look?

Worldgonecrazy · 01/09/2025 13:22

Anyone feeling brave enough to try it?

I can’t work out from the photos of Miles Cyrus and Jennifer Otega whether it’s make up or they genuinely have removed their eyebrows?

They've likely bleached them. If I could carry it off I'd give it a go but I know I definitely can't (as I'm not a celebrity, stunning or skinny or unusual enough)

God almighty, menopause has hit my poor eyebrows hard and I've only just managed to find a product that makes them look half decent,no way will I be going for a no eyebrow look!!!

Would you mind sharing the product please?

Same menopausal brow thinning here and I need all of the help I can get 😀

CapaciousHag · 01/09/2025 13:45

Haven’t tried it (yet) but I have been feeling for a while that eyebrows are kind of over.

Obviously I don’t mean the existence of eyebrows, just the meticulously and artificially groomed eyebrows we’ve been told we need for several years. I do think people look quite cute with them bleached or powdered to near invisibility.

I had them tinted but they didn't look right and way too dark for the first week.

Then I ordered a Brow Blade Brow Aid- very good for filling in but I really just want to cover the alarming white hairs .

Then discovered Maybelline Super Fluff which is a new mascara and is FANTASTIC!! Quick brush through and they look perfect and it lasts all day.

Given that thick, full eyebrows are a sign of youth and health, and thin, sparse or non existent eyebrows are associated with age or ill health - I doubt this trend will last

I say this as someone with sparse eyebrows, I’m constantly trying to make them look more lush! Would love the sparse eyebrow look to be in but I can’t see it happening.

MsFelicityLemon · 01/09/2025 13:51

An eyebrow trend that is the opposite of the last.

Microblading could be done so badly (so called "slug eyebrows' and now this bleached brow trend has the potential to go very wrong!!

ClaireEclair · 01/09/2025 13:51

@CatAsstrophe I plucked my eyebrows in the 90s (thanks Gwen) and they grew back patchy. I use either Glossier boy brow (if I’m feeling flush) or NYX to cover the greys and add some colour to the gaps. I like the tiny brush that comes with Boy Brow but the formulas seem to be almost the same.

I think they have eyebrows but just bleached them. My eyebrows are stupidly thick and very dark. I would look insane with them bleached so am definitely not trying it!

CatAsstrophe · 01/09/2025 16:28

@LoafofSellotape and @ClaireEclair

Thanks for the product recommendations. I'll check them all out. I'm currently using a brow pencil by Jones Road but I don't like it as bits flake off when applying it.

Being blonde, I already have the 'bleached brow' effect. It's not a good look!

Same here, I cant imagine how weird Id look.
I think if you are going to do this you need to be at least slightly edgy and alternative in your general look otherwise it will look like you have some sort of eyebrow disease rather then a fashion choice!

Fuckish · 01/09/2025 16:33

Tilda Swinton did that aeons ago. And looked wonderful. But then she pulls off all kinds of unlikely fabulousness, and is funny about it.

TheLeadbetterLife · 01/09/2025 16:35

It's not a look I'll be trying myself, but it looks fantastic on some of the celebs—especially the ones who go for experimental styles, like Maisie Williams or Gaga.

Watch Gaga's episode of Hot Ones for some of the most immaculate styling I've ever seen—and all just for a tiny budget YouTube show where the guests eat spicy wings.

whenimnotcleaningwindows · 01/09/2025 16:36

I've just had to pause watching First Dates because an unsuspecting man was on a date with a transvestite. It made me think that actually a lot of women must be realising that men don't seem to be able to tell that it's a man because so many women have fake eyebrows, pantomine eyelashes and lip filler. If most of your face isn't real it's the same as wearing a mask and we've clearly gone too far.

Maybe it's the start of women bucking the trend so men make a clear choice.

Halfendffbfn · 01/09/2025 16:41

I’ve never thought it looked good or attractive on any celebrity, including lady Gaga - it looks odd.

Ponderingwindow · 01/09/2025 16:42

My ultra-blonde invisible eyebrows are now a fashion statement instead of yet another thing that makes me strange?

Tbf no one looks good with bleached eyebrows

Gettingbysomehow · 01/09/2025 17:40

Absoutely not. Im just a bog standard middle aged woman. My friends and colleagues would think I'd finally lost it.

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 01/09/2025 17:59

It’s blonde eyebrows, not no eyebrows! Some have bleached, some have just put makeup over /not used eyebrow products on naturally pale eyebrows.

I have been surprised how long the thick heavy brows have lasted. They have been getting thinner /more sculpted for a while, perhaps the early 00s sperm brows will be back within a few years.

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 01/09/2025 18:03

@minipie- for most of the 20th century, thin, plucked brows were fashionable and thick brows seen as ‘manly’ or unkempt. We’ve just had a long period of thick, dark brows being seen as desirable, but it’s not surprising we might get a swing back away from the strong brow look.

minipie · 01/09/2025 19:17

Yes fair point Fancy. I do wonder if fashion trends in beauty are based on whatever is most difficult / high maintenance / expensive to achieve in any given era.

FizzingAda · 01/09/2025 19:23

I'm a senior now, with white hair, and my eyebrows are almost non existent, so I look permanently surprised. I'd give anything for something to make them look normal again, I hate to see old ladies with pencilled eyebrows.

TheFormidableMrsC · 01/09/2025 19:28

It’s bleach. My daughter has a colleague who does this. I think it’s weird personally and it makes her look unwell but she’s a quirky girl and it’s part of her overall look.

Blablibladirladada · 02/09/2025 18:52

No no for me 😂😂

I wish there would be an emoticon with no eyebrow though!

Yes.
and also what is the exact opposite of what was trendy just 5sec ago albeit full huge eyebrows to now…no eyebrow.

But then at least you can easily scan through magazine and know who is tendance and not.
