Retinol Burn

Hi

Over the last few weeks I’ve had recurring tiny red bumps underneath my nose which I think may be possible retinol burn ( I used Medik8 and Sunday Riley Good Genes). I’ve stopped using both but every time I think I’ve calmed my skin down they come back. How can I get rid of them and will I ever be able to use these products again? I’ll try to post a photo . Thanks for your help!

If you're new to retinol, you can put moisturiser on first, then retinol then moisturiser after. They call this the 'sandwich' method.

It also helps to use it every other day instead of daily.

Apparently, what you're experiencing is the drying of your moisture barrier which feels like burning.

Been there many times!

Thanks. Apparently it’s perioral dermatitis I have according to a friend who’s a beauty therapist. I need to not use anything perfumed for a while and def stop the retinol! What a pain.
