Navy blue

Why is navy blue so annoying? I have a pair of gorgeous navy blue trousers from M&S I want to wear them with a navy blue T-shirt. But I can’t find a navy blue which is the same colour or even close. Even in M&S the navy blue T-shirts are not evenly remotely close in colour.
It’s a plot against me and my need to be impossibly chic.

Yep, I know what you mean. I mostly wear navy things with white, cream or beige/tan to avoid this problem. Or with e.g. a top with just a navy pattern on it or thin navy stripes so that the colour difference isn't noticeable.

I think this is why people buy co-ords

You have to wash them both the same number of times though. Another annoyance.

Navy blue is a colour M&S simply cannot get right IMO.

Try John Lewis, they seem to get it.

Lol! I wear a lot of navy, but not “double navy” for this reason. I find the same with black.

Yes it’s a pain that there’s so much variation in navy between fabrics as well as manufacturers/shops etc. I think all you can do is wear your trousers for a big shopping trip and literally try to match tops when you’re wearing them.

I have given up on the dream of double navy.

I'm trying to move away from black I have a tendency to look a bit ninja goth. @IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads - navy is just such a flattering colour. @HundredMilesAnHour The fabric thing is an issue.

It's also that the t-shirts this year haven't been very nice.
H&M and Cos have done a few good ones but I just wanted one simple work outfit in navy

And navy tops are often darker than navy bottoms, which looks awful on me.

@Thortour I’ve managed the double navy dream with one outfit only - a top and trousers (bought separately from different Vinted sellers) from Issey Miyake Pleats Please. I suspect it was down to sheer luck!!
