Beach holiday wardrobe - plus size

Finally managing to get on our first family beach holiday 😊 Haven’t managed to travel abroad in ages - it’s been 7 years since our last holiday.
Since then I’ve had DC and been hit with an autoimmune condition that has caused me a lot of weight struggles. I’m currently a size 22.

My stomach is my main problem area, so I hate anything clingy around there or cropped. I hate wearing anything tucked in. In summer here I tend to cover up in baggy T-shirts and leggings or baggy trousers and a T-shirt. I’d love to use this holiday as a bit of a kickstart to dressing better and hopefully feeling better about myself.

I don’t even know where to begin! I have a couple of swimsuits that fit and are supportive so will take those, and I have a couple of maxi dresses that could work for the evening so intend to pack those too. Other than that I need a whole wardrobe 😳🫠

1 week holiday in Majorca & will need to run around after pre-school aged DC. Don’t really have a fixed budget but I’m looking more at average high street type spends than high end stuff. I like colour and prints (but hate purple 😂).

Any ideas would be amazing 😊 If you’re plus sized then maybe you could link me your favourite holiday outfit?

Granted you like colour and prints, but bear in mind it will be autumn when you return, so it would be more visit effective to buy things that you might be able to wear for at least a while in the UK.

Never Fully Dressed goes well into plus sizes and has a sale of summer clothes right now. This looks good:

And this is lovely:

But have a look at all the sale stuff.

(Tbh, apart from the smarter things I’m not sure it would be worth paying more than Primark / supermarket prices for completely everyday looking after children holiday clothes. That way you can relax and not have to worry about looking after your clothes.)

Op, have you tried vinted, just filter women’s, size 22, new with tags, without tags, and very good, and there is a huge selection.

I’m similar size although sadly not going on holiday and I wouldn’t go mad for a week in Majorca.
I would maybe get another dress or two. Try M&Co, or Bon Marche. Bon Marche are good for cropped trousers too which could be worn with your existing t-shirts. A couple of new blouses mayve if you want a change from t-shirts?
The supermarkets are having sales on their summer stock now so might be worth a look. Or even charity shops.
Maybe get another swimsuit if you’re going to be in the pool a lot and some sort of coverup you can put on when you come out.
A lightweight cardigan for travelling or evenings if it might drop cool?

Am a size 18/20 with big boobs and tum! Recently got a few dresses from Roman that I liked - including some maxi ones that were the right length. Often had to order a couple of sizes, and some of their shift style were made if a clingy material, but kept about 5. Also - linen blend shorts from next with their vest top from "the set" and a cover up shirt worked well. Shorts weren't too short and fitted in a flattering cut.

Same size.

Simply Be has a lot of holiday wear, cover ups etc, and most of my holiday dresses (for evening) are from Monsoon.

For "out and about", I've started wearing skorts (I have two from Callaway golf clothing).

Don't forget a "breakfast dress" 😉

Have a lovely trip!

We went away on a hot holiday this summer after several years of not being able to, and I felt worried about what to bring and about getting my body out.

I realised that actually there are all sorts of normal shapes and sizes around the pool, and honestly no one cares.

In the daytime (also running around after kids) I just wore swimwear and a sarong or lightweight shorts plus a white linen shirt for lunch etc.

And in the evening I found it was still very hot so I re-wore a simple black maxi dress several evenings with different flat shoes/sandals and jewellery. I took a nice clutch bag.

The best things I packed were lightweight, comfortable and loose. Plus nice accessories, hats and sunglasses.

enjoy!

Roman has some nice stuff too, and has a sale on.
