This is a pair of DMs. Could a cobbler fix this - I’m thinking a mix of glue and sanding down? I’m not worried about there being a chunk out of it still, just thinking could they do something to smooth it out and prevent it getting worse?

You should be able to patch that up yourself with Shoe Goo

I used to work in an orthotics lab and would have used black dust mixed with glue and then stick it on the grinder.
