80s style for a gig

I'm going to an all day 80s gig. Lots of bands all the real ones.
I think I'll wear jeans and a top as it's getting nippy and be outdoors. Probably a jacket too?
I was thinking neon but trying to remember what else I wore? I grew up in the 80s. My friend I'm going with is just wearing a jumpsuit.
I'll have to scour the charity shops.
I did go to an 80s show last year but think I've put that outfit in the charity shop?
I might look ridiculous in neon as in my 50s?

Any tips? TIA

Go Dexys style in dungarees. Failing that a horrible blouson type jacket or just a normal denim jacket with sleeves rolled up would work.

How about going on Google images and looking at photos of Bananarama, Belle stars, or the girls from Human League. They all wore easily copied stuff.
Or you can find a " choose Life" , or "Frankie Says" t shirt . Wear with rolled up cropped jeans and espadrilles.

If you want to keep it simple, double denim and big hair.

I was going to curl my hair but it's poker straight. So have decided to just leave it.

Love bananarama. I'd just get a long length of black lace use it as big bow hair band as we did oh and big earrings.

I went to an 80s disco last year and went for a Madonna Vogue inspired look. I wore a vintage tuxedo jacket over a black mini skirt and sheer black tights. Pearl and diamanté vintage earrings and a long string of “pearls” worn as a bracelet. I back-combed my hair with half a can of Elnette, and wore red lipstick.

Obviously I had the sleeves of the tux pushed up (held in place with some black garters I made from elastic).

Buy a cheap white t shirt and have big black letters printed on it saying 'YumYa says Relax'?
Wear with jeans with turn ups and doc martins if you have any.

Wide leg black trousers, cropped T shirt and a denim jacket with the sleeves rolled up. Bonus if you can find a wide brimmed Spanish style black hat. Some bright coloured dangly earings and lots of bangles on your wrist.
