I have recently discovered this website and am coveting pretty much everything. Except it is wildly outside my budget for every day wear and I have no events coming up to warrant splashing out on a special piece 😭

There is a dress I’m loving on vinted, worn once and still on the website, about a third of the original price so I have a couple of questions. What is the quality like? Is it worth the price tag? And also what is the sizing like? It’s still a lot of money to spend on something I can’t return if it doesn’t fit.

Oh and can I just say - the shearling cape 🥰
absolutely can’t afford it but I want it so much.

The couple of dresses I have are good quality- good material and well sewn.

Size wise they come up similar to Reiss (so much smaller than e.g. Next) but longer. I’m just above average height and the dresses are a bit long for me.

Playtoo · 21/08/2025 13:31

I’ve found them good quality but cut for tall boyish figures - so not for me.

WTDress · 21/08/2025 13:39

Ah I am not tall this does not bode well. It’s called a maxi but looked more midi on the model

WhiskyandWater · 21/08/2025 13:40

Quality is lovely but I find the sizing inconsistent or very dependent on the style, for example I’d say I’m a standard 12 but have a dress in a 10, perfect fit, some trousers in a 10 some in a 12 and shirts always a 12. Their sales are good but popular sizes sell out (again what’s popular varies according to the item, so it isn’t always a 10 that goes first for example).

Everybodysinthehousetonight · 21/08/2025 13:45

I think the quality is excellent compared to similar brands. I'm true to size and live in their wide legged pants!

Lotsofpots · 21/08/2025 13:46

The quality is excellent. I’ve been buying from them for years and have only ever had an issue with one item which they immediately refunded.

size wise I think it’s broadly true to size, but some items I’ve had to size up or down on. They are long - I’m short and have trousers taken up from there. But only one dress has needed shortening.

the vinted market is excellent but they also do great sales so keep an eye out.

WTDress · 21/08/2025 13:53

Thanks. I’m an 8-10 and the vinted dress is a 10 so I think it sounds size wise it will be fine it’s the length that worries me.
The model on the website is 5’9, I’m 5’4 at a push, it will defo be ankle grazing.

They specifically say their clothes are designed so they can be shortened without impacting the style so you should be fine. I’m shorter than you and find their dresses great.

PinkTonic · 21/08/2025 14:12

I find the fit varies but they give measurements. I’m 5ft 4in and am fine in the dresses but always have to have the trousers shortened. I love the clothes and find the quality excellent. I buy from them a lot.

Boxfreshrussell · 21/08/2025 14:23

The stuff isn’t as long as it was a few years ago, can be shortened too. Their sizes are generous. Often a 14 but 12 at Me + Em

londoner781 · 21/08/2025 14:25

Love me & em. The clothes are such good quality. I’m a size 6 on top and 8 on bottom and went for a dress in size 6 which fits perfect. Had to have it taken up though as I’m petite.

TheChosenTwo · 21/08/2025 14:30

I find the quality to be overall excellent (something lost a button and I had a slightly scruffy hem just with some loose thread that kept unravelling) and the sizing to be perfect for me. I just buy my regular size and it’s all fine. I don’t really do separates so much though; mainly dresses.
I have to say, while I love the bits that I’ve got I do find a lot of it makes me look like a Tory politician so I’m quite selective! I think it’s just my reverse snobbery at play 😂 I don’t really suit super smart and I am mostly a casual dresser, I’m just careful about what I buy from there but overall I always have a look when I need something new.

Labour politician! Or a particular Labour politician's wife....

Quality is excellent and I think they are cut in a very flattering way. Trousers/jumpsuits definitely on the long side but interesting that a PP said that was to allow for adjustments in length.

TheChosenTwo · 21/08/2025 15:08

Haha maybe it’s just politicians in general! 😂

TorroFerney · 21/08/2025 15:21

I’m five foot three, 120 pounds and the one dress I have is a six and a midi, it’s a nice length on me. An eight was slightly too big but if there hadn’t been a six I’d have bought it. I love it.

WTDress · 21/08/2025 15:29

Ooh I’m so tempted with this vinted one.
although I have no where to wear it

OP posts:
WTDress · 21/08/2025 15:31

I’m also tempted by the cape, £695 though 😱

OP posts:
Floisme · 21/08/2025 15:36

I’ve bought a few things second hand.

I think the quality’s pretty decent although I still haven’t quite got over seeing a ‘tweed’ jacket last winter that was priced at over £600 but that turned out (from memory) to be only about 15% wool.

What I do think they’re really good at is interpreting current trends in a way that’s wearable. If I needed an outfit for an event where I wanted to look serious, authoritative but also modern and approachable then they’d be high on my list, which is probably why politicians like it.

The things I’ve had have been true to size although long. I’m 5’3 and needed to ‘cuff’ their trousers which wasn’t a problem but I’d steer away from anything that wasn’t easy to shorten.

MyNameIsX · 21/08/2025 15:49

Just bear in mind that ME+EM are supporters of Labour.

For that reason alone, I will not buy their clothes.

Mydadsbirthday · 21/08/2025 16:06

I'm a big fan but I only buy in the sale. I find it very overpriced and the quality doesn't always live up to the price. That said, everything I've had from there has fit like a dream and always looks slightly more elevated than other brands. Nice design details.

Papyrophile · 21/08/2025 16:34

I have some cargo trousers and a few t-shirts, but they have a tendency to use puffed shoulders, which I dislike. But fabric is (IME) good, garments wash well, and the cutting is excellent. But at sale prices only!

blizymitzy · 21/08/2025 17:50

I completely agree with the last two posters.I adore their clothes and everything works so well for me and I just feel very
‘put together’ as my dm would have said .I’m wearing a pair of their jeans and a short sleeve cardigan today and feel very good 😊
I only buy in the sale now too as their prices are insane but the jeans I’m wearing were full price and are the best jeans I’ve ever had.
i find them a generous fit as a 12/14 and most of my items are 10/12 from them .
the quality and cut are fantastic.

MidnightMeltdown · 21/08/2025 18:09

Shop at Me + EM and you too could like like this! Lots of people seem to love it, but I really don’t get it. Most of the stuff is hideous to my eye.

I agree Angela Rayner looks a bugger in that trouser suit. My theory is that she had her eye on the red dress, which is far more her kind of thing, but that she was forced into a last minute switch when Victoria Starmer bagged it.

Look at her face in that photo - she is not happy!
