Not only that she wants super baggy (so no clinging at all on the butt or thighs), dark denim and cargo pockets if possible. It's a really hard body shape to buy for with those specs and after trying on everything in H&M (mostly too short) and Zara (wrong cut/too old), buying tall cargo's online from New Look (crotch too high and too tight on thighs) and some from Tall Next (wrong style) I'm throwing in the towel. Her previous 32'' are now ankle swingers though and I know with winter coming I can't bear to see her in those super short shorts they're all in 😱 - help! She's alternative so as baggy as they come seems to be the key.

Oh those Hollister ones look like the right shape (to me!). I might need to take her to try some on to see if they pass the test - I know where I can go for a Hollister shop at least! Bit worried the model is only 5ft 6 though...

Just had another thought- have you looked on eBay/vinted etc for the old style Criminal Damage/Carhaart/road baggies? Those are what we used to wear in the 00s and the young ones are calling it vintage lol

@jimmypug I've gone for these to try - they are in the sale so I had to really. I'll let you know her verdict when they arrive. I feel she won't like the colour (although I think I got the last dark blue ones from the look of it as only black left) and they're not as baggy as I suspect she wants. Worth a shot though I thought

You need the brand Weekday, which is available on ASOS. I’ve got a small waist and bigger thighs/butt and have lots of jeans from this brand as their fit is perfect. They also do 34 length.

Oh - I’ve just recommended Weekday. If this pair doesn’t work, definitely try another pair.

My 18year daughter is the same, she mostly has jeans/ cargo from boohoo men tall range, and then a leather belt to draw in waist to keep them up! They are 34 long, have some great styles colours, and being mens the longer crotch bit allows more room for bum! She likes them baggy

@Panda69 funnily enough I found a pair late last night on Amazon that were men's so I have ordered those. Initially because she said high waist only it ruled out a few things, but she seems to have softened on that now.
Still not had the Weekday pair but they are "on the way" so 🙏(as a side, why no crossed fingers emoji MN?!)

Third recommendation for Abercrombie. They do a Curve range which have extra room in the hips so you don't get that gap at the back of the waist. They do baggy ones, I have them and they fit perfectly, just get her normal waist size.

dontknowwasmadetoknow · 24/08/2025 11:30

Definitely have a look in hollister my tall daughter buys all her jeans in there as they are the only ones that fit her perfectly. Lots of different styles as well.

MangoHabanero · 24/08/2025 15:15

I don’t know if she’ll find that specific style and colour at Abercrombie, but I have a similar shape and I swear by their trousers and jeans in the Curve range, longer length. Worth her bookmarking for future reference. They do all size waists - the ‘curve’ is just extra room in the backside and tops of thighs.

Little update - got the ones I ordered from Amazon this afternoon. Super frustratingly a perfect pair but only 32 inch leg 😭I was hoping that men's would be 34 but should have known! Crossing fingers the Weekday ones finally arrive so we know if we need to continue the hunt...but I suspect we do as these were quite a different shape and colour and now she's seen them they are what she wants, of course!

Definitely look on boohoo mens tall! Daughter has so excited great baggy jeans from there, similar to those, and some with tiedye bits over. They have new stuff on there often, so keep checking. And we pay the £10 postage thing, that then gives you year free delivery, rather than pay 3.99 or whatever it is each time!
